KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its Wrestler of the Week for the tenth week of competition in the 2022-23 season.
MIAA Wrestler of the Week – Alex Kauffman – Central Oklahoma
Alex Kauffman had two easy wins last week as top-ranked Central Oklahoma cruised past MIAA foes Fort Hays State (41-6) and Central Missouri (30-6). The senior 184-pounder had a 12-2 major decision victory against the Tigers and then cruised to a 8-2 decision win in the Bronchos victory over the Mules.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Tereus Henry – Fort Hays State
Tereus Henry, the fourth-ranked wrestler at 197 pounds, picked up 16-1 technical fall in a dual against Newman this past Sunday. The sophomore helped the Tigers knock off Newman 39-7.
Billy Higgins – Nebraska Kearney
Billy Higgins was the only Loper to win a match last Friday at NAIA defending national champ Grand View in Des Moines. The redshirt junior recorded a last second takedown to win 3-2 over the second-ranked wrestler in the NAIA. Higgins is now 19-2 and on a 10-match win streak.
