2022-23 MIAA Wrestler of the Week (Week 1)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA announced its second Wrestler of the Week for the 2022-23 season.  
 
MIAA Wrestler of the Week – Tereus Henry – Fort Hays State
Tereus Henry placed second at the Dakota Wesleyan Open in a loaded 197-pound bracket after a four-win day, all of which were bonus-point victories. The 11th-ranked wrestler in Division II at 197 pounds opened the day with a first-round pin before a dominant 16-1 technical fall against Jaydon Walls of St. Cloud State. The El Paso, Texas native followed that up with a 12-2 major decision over Jackson Kinsella before picking up another major decision (15-7) against Dominic Murphy of St. Cloud State. His day wrapped up with a narrow 3-2 defeat in the championship bout against Max Ramberg of Augustana.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Austin Eldredge – Nebraska Kearney
Ranked No. 2 at 174 pounds, Austin Eldredge was the Lopers’ highest scorer in UNK’s 24-18 dual victory over Chadron State. The redshirt senior won by technical fall, 17-2 in 3:30 against Chadron State’s Rowdy Pfeil.
