KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced a new Athlete of the Week for week ten of the 2026 women’s tennis season, presented by ClassicCourt – the official tennis surface of the MIAA. Missouri Western’s Jevrosima Mitic was named the MIAA Athlete of the Week for the Griffons’ second straight weekly honor.

MIAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Jevrosima Mitic, Missouri Western
Jevrosima Mitic led No. 47 Griffon Tennis to a 2-0 record on the week, earning a 4-3 win over No. 41 Central Oklahoma and a 7-0 sweep of Newman in MIAA play. Against the Bronchos, the freshman picked up a key point over UCO’s No. 60-ranked singles player at No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 straight-set win, helping the Griffons secure the 4-3 victory. She followed that up with another dominant performance against Newman, first teaming up with Alejandra Ramirez Botella to earn a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles to set the tone early. In singles, she controlled her match at No. 2, earning a 7-5, 6-0 victory to help complete the sweep. The Griffons extend their winning streak to 12 matches and remain unbeaten in MIAA play with the victory. Mitic’s consistency at the top of the lineup in both doubles and singles continues to be a major factor as the Griffons remain unbeaten in conference play.
