KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its Men’s Golfer of the Week for the third week of the Spring season. All MIAA golfers competed in Central Oklahoma’s Bronchos Invitational this week for the Association’s third designated event of the 2022-23 season.
 
MIAA Golfer of the Week – Bennett Baldwin – Central Oklahoma  
Bennett Baldwin defeated all MIAA golfers at the Broncho Invitational, claiming his first-ever collegiate title with a three-round score of 3-over-par, 219. The sophomore opened the tournament shooting a 69, three strokes under par. Baldwin started final-round play on No. 1 and opened with five straight pars before birdieing the par-4 sixth. He followed with three more pars for a 1-under 35 on the front, then made three bogeys in the first seven holes coming in before finishing with two clutch pars. Baldwin’s 69 score in the opening round tied for the lowest 18-hole score of the invitational.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Christian Yanovitch – Northeastern State
Christian Yanovitch earned his third podium finish of the season, placing second at the Broncho Invitational. The sophomore finished just one stroke above the invitational’s champion with a 54-hole total of 220. Yanovitch shot 4-over-par, 220 (74-73-73) with nine birdies and 33 pars.
 
Alex Gentry – Central Missouri
Alex Gentry fired a final round, two-under-par 70 in leading the Central Missouri Mules golf team on the final day of the Broncho Invitational. Gentry tallied six birdies in his final round of the MIAA designated event for his 2-under par 70, giving him a three-round total of 5-over par 221 (76-75-70) as he finished tied for third on the leaderboard.
