KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its Men’s Golfer of the Week for the second week of the 2023 Spring Season.
 
MIAA Golfer of the Week – Evan Griffith – Central Oklahoma  
Evan Griffith used a sizzling, late-round surge to rally for the individual title at Oak Tree Invitational in leading Central Oklahoma to a fifth-place team finish. Griffith was four-under-par over the final 11 holes to rally for a closing two-under 68 in finishing at five-under 205 for a one-shot win over Chris Somerfield of Cameron. The victory was the first collegiate title for the junior standout.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Christian Yanovitch – Northeastern State
Christian Yanovitch took medalist honors for the first time in his career with a three-stroke win at the Warrior Invitational in Las Vegas. The RiverHawks sophomore shoot a one-under 215 score through three rounds. His 67 in round two was a tournament low, and it out-paced the next lowest score by six shots with high winds inflating scores in the desert. The RiverHawks would claim its third consecutive title in Las Vegas and its third of the season.
 
Elliot Han Monteremal – Rogers State
Elliot Han Monteremal led Rogers State to a win at the Hillcat Classic earlier this week with an outstanding performance finishing in second place with a card of four-under-par, 212. The junior shot rounds of 70 and 69 on the first day of the tournament and finished the final round with a 73. In total, he sank 13 birdies across the three rounds.
 
Daniel Duffin – Washburn
Daniel Duffin led the Ichabods at the Oak Tree Invitational as he finished tied for sixth place out of 85 competitors and 15 teams. The junior shot rounds of 74, 68 and 70 to finish at two-over-par.
