KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its final Track and Field Athletes of the Week from the 2026 women’s outdoor season, presented by
Beynon – the official track surface of the MIAA. Pittsburg State’s Kayvon Nubine was named the final Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and Missouri Southern's Dailynn VanDeren was named the Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this spring.
OUTDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Kayvon Nubine, Pittsburg State
Kayvon Nubine clocked the seventh fastest 100-meter hurdles time in NCAA Division II this season at the University of Arkansas John McDonnell Invitational last Friday (Apr. 24). The sophomore from Edmond, Okla., crossed the finish line in 13.51 seconds. She now ranks No. 3 on Pitt State's all-time record list in the discipline.
OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Dailynn VanDeren, Missouri Southern
Dailynn VanDeren set a new Missouri Southern shot put record with a career-best mark of 16.88 meters (55-4.75) to place first overall at Arkansas’ Division I John McDonnell Invitational. The junior improved on her MSSU program record of 16.72 meters (54-10.25) set on April 19. VanDeren ranks first in NCAA Division II for shot put in 2026 and has won six titles during the outdoor season.
NOTABLE TRACK PERFORMANCES:
Kassidy Stucky, Nebraska Kearney
Kassidy Stucky broke the Nebraska Kearney women’s 1,500-meter school record for the second time this season. Last Friday at the Kip Janvrin Open in Iowa, Stuckey turned in a winning time of 4:24.68. Her time ranks first in the MIAA and 17th in Division II this season.
4x100-Meter Relay, Central Missouri
The Jennies’ 4x100-meter relay team of Anayla Waters, Chika Bekwunye, Emily Meeks, and Grizell Scarlett finished fourth out of 15 teams at the John McDonnell Invitational on Friday (Apr. 24) in Fayetteville, Arkansas, posting a school record and provisional time of 45.30. The time ranks 13th in Division II this season and tops in the MIAA.
NOTABLE FIELD PERFORMANCES:
Lily Novacek, Nebraska Kearney
Lily Novacek had another big mark in the hammer throw while competing in the Championship Division at the Drake Relays last Saturday (Apr. 25). Her distance of 64.41 meters (211-4) was good for second place, with Novacek being the lone non-Division I athlete in the nine-person field. The throw is the second-best in Division II, while Novacek already owns the top mark in Division II with a throw of 66.44 meters (218-0) from earlier this spring (Apr. 9).
Annabeth Baalmann, Fort Hays State
Annabeth Baalmann climbed to third in Division II in the women’s pole vault with her clearance of 4.20 meters (13-9.25) at last week's Alex Francis Classic in Hays. The senior cleared three bars on the day, all on her first attempt.
