KANSAS CITY, MO – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced a new Wrestler of the Week for the tenth week of the 2025-26 season. Ouachita’s junior heavyweight BK Seago was crowned the MIAA Wrestler of the Week for his second weekly honor of the season.

MIAA WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: BK Seago, 285 lbs., Ouachita
BK Seago avenged his last loss at the Midwest Classic by defeating Newman's No. 9-ranked heavyweight, Caleb Wunsch, in a commanding 13-4 major decision last Tuesday (Jan. 20), sealing the first MIAA dual victory for the Tigers in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Seago scored a reversal from bottom position to take a 2-0 lead in the second period. Once his opponent escaped, he dove on a low single-leg, which dropped Wunsch to his back. Seago climbed up the ladder to secure a half-nelson and turned a takedown into back points for a four-point nearfall. In the third period, he dropped Wunsch to the mat for a dual-clinching takedown. Seago, who’s ranked Division II’s No. 14 heavyweight,  improved his record to 12-3 overall and 9-1 in dual matches during his junior campaign.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Gabe Johnson, Central Oklahoma (157 lbs.)
Gabe Johnson went 2-0 last week for the Bronchos in a pair of non-conference duals. The No. 1-ranked 157-pounder in the country outscored his two opponents 34-3 with a pair of technical falls. His first win of the week, a 17-2 technical fall over New Mexico Highlands’ Reed McCarty, tied the UCO record for career tech. falls. He then added a 17-1 tech. fall against Colorado State-Pueblo’s Hunter Richardson to break the Bronchos record. The two-time NCAA Division II national champion has 26 career technical falls for Central Oklahoma.

Damon Ashworth, Central Missouri (184 lbs.)
Damon Ashworth contributed six team points for Central Missouri in its 41-3 MIAA dual victory over Fort Hays State with a fall at 0:25 in the 184-pound bout. His win helped extend the Mules’ lead during the middle of the dual and supported UCM’s opening conference victory. Ashworth’s performance was part of a strong overall team effort as the No. 14 Mules began MIAA competition at 1-0.

Ceal Robb, Nebraska Kearney (157 lbs.)
Ranked fifth nationally at 157 pounds, Robb used a last-second takedown to beat No. 11-ranked Vinny Cabal of Western Colorado, 4-1, last Saturday (Jan. 24) in Kearney. The Lopers’ redshirt sophomore is now 13-3 on the season.
