UCM's Trey Dillow Named MIAA Wrestler of the Week

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced a new Wrestler of the Week for the ninth week of the 2025-26 season. Central Missouri’s Trey Dillow was named the MIAA Wrestler of the Week for the Mules’ fourth weekly honor of the season.  
 
MIAA WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Trey Dillow, 149 lbs., Central Missouri   
Trey Dillow had a dominant performance for the Central Missouri Mules, finishing atop the 149-pound podium at the Roger Denker Open this past weekend in Warrensburg. The unranked redshirt freshman went 4-0 in the event and capped his run with a 6-1 decision over No. 11-ranked Cole Mayfield of Central Oklahoma in the championship bout. Dillow also collected wins over Drury’s Garrett Salt (8-0 major decision), No. 12 Grandview’s Reid Foster (4-1 decision), and No. 1 Central Oklahoma’s Kasen Miller (8-1 decision). He was one of six Mules to finish first in the event.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Crew Howard, Nebraska Kearney (285 lbs.)
Division II’s top-ranked heavyweight Crew Howard went 2-0 last week as No. 2-ranked Nebraska Kearney finished 2-1 in duals against Sioux Falls, Newman and Grand View. Howard recorded a fall in 5:12 in the Lopers’ dual with NAIA power Grand View and a 5:59 fall over No. 9-ranked Caleb Wunsch of Newman. 
 
Gabe Johnson, Central Oklahoma (157 lbs.)
Gabe Johnson picked up one of six wins for No. 1 Central Oklahoma in its non-conference dual with No. 12 Grand Valley State last Friday night in Edmond (Jan. 16). The top-ranked 157-pounder in the country and two-time national champion earned a first-period fall in just 1:45 over Mclain Morency. It was the 101st win of Johnson's illustrious career as a Broncho. He remains undefeated at 10-0 this season.
 
Cason Lindsey, Fort Hays State (165 lbs.)
Cason Lindsey placed second at 165 pounds at the Roger Denker Open in Warrensburg on Sunday (Jan. 18), going 4-1 on the day with three bonus-point wins. The senior recorded two wins by fall, one major decision, and one decision on his way to the championship bout where he fell to the No.9-ranked wrestler in the country 5-4 on a takedown with 30 seconds remaining. Lindsey is now 10-2 this season, including a 7-2 mark against Division II opponents.
