KANSAS CITY, MO – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced a new Wrestler of the Week for the seventh week of the 2025-26 season. Central Missouri’s Anthony Erickson was named the MIAA Wrestler of the Week for the Mules’ third weekly honor of the season.
MIAA WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Anthony Erickson, 174 lbs., Central Missouri
Anthony Erickson went 2-1 at the Jack Hancock Duals on Saturday (Dec. 20), delivering key performances while wrestling up from his natural 174-pound weight class. The senior first earned an 8-2 decision over Minnesota State’s Grant Cook, then upset Division II’s No. 15-ranked 184-pound Kylar Pickard of Belmont Abbey with a 14-9 decision. His only loss in the event was a 3-1 decision to Colorado Mines’ Mason Diel at 197 pounds.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Jason Henschel, Central Oklahoma (133 lbs.)
No. 1-ranked 133-pounder Jason Henschel earned a first-period technical fall to set an early tone in No. 1 Central Oklahoma's 34-6 rout of Maryville Friday night (Dec. 19) in Edmond. It was the 29th consecutive home win for the top-ranked Bronchos. Henschel scored early and often, racking up a 15-0 tech. fall in 2:56. His four-point nearfall in the final 10 seconds of the first period ended the match early. The Bronchos won 8 of 10 weights and had five bonus-point victories.
Trenton Munoz, Nebraska Kearney (165 lbs.)
Ranked No. 4 nationally at 165 pounds, Trenton Munoz recorded a 16-4 major decision at Augie on Friday night (Dec. 19). It was one of two bonus point wins for the No. 2 Lopers, who also won three close decisions to earn a sixth straight dual victory over the Vikings.
Cash Thomas, Fort Hays State (157 lbs.)
Cash Thomas picked up a 12-3 major decision in Fort Hays State’s dual against New Mexico Highlands. The junior managed two takedowns and a four-point nearfall to improve to 12-6 on the year. It was his 10th bonus-point win of the season.
