Central Oklahoma's Branson Britten Named MIAA Wrestler of the Week

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced a new Wrestler of the Week for the sixth week of the 2025-26 season. Central Oklahoma’s Brason Britten upset ranked opponents in the Midwest Classic to claim the 184-pound title and be crowned the latest MIAA Wrestler of the Week.
 
MIAA WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Branson Britten, 184 lbs., Central Oklahoma
Branson Britten highlighted Central Oklahoma’s third-place finish at the Midwest Classic over the weekend, finishing first at 184 pounds. Currently ranked No. 14 in Division II at 184 pounds, Britten went 5-0 in the tournament, which included an upset over No. 1-ranked Keegan Gehihausen of Chadron State 8-1 in the finals. The senior also beat No. 5-ranked Patrick Johnson of Gannon 5-1 in the semifinals. Overall, Britten outscored his opponents 30-4 in his five matches. He recorded a decision and a fall on Saturday in the opening rounds, then won by major decision in the quarterfinals before his two decisions over top-ranked opponents to win the tournament. Britten is the third Broncho to earn the MIAA Athlete of the Week title this season and the first MIAA wrestler to earn the honor at 184 pounds.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Otgonbayar Batsuuri, Nebraska Kearney (174 lbs.)
Otgonbayar Batsuuri helped No. 1-ranked Nebraska Kearney earn its first-ever dual win over No. 9 St. Cloud State last Friday (Dec. 12) in St. Cloud, Minn. Batsuuri, who’s ranked No. 9 in Division II at 174 pounds, upset the Huskies’ No. 4-ranked Bryce Dagel in an 8-1 decision. Batsuuri had two takedowns in the match and is now 6-3 on the year. 
 
Jevin Foust, Newman (133 lbs.)
Jevin Foust led Newman with a runner-up finish in the 133-pound bracket at the Midwest Classic. The senior went 5-1 in the tournament, opening the event with an 18-1 technical fall win over East Stroudsburg’s Sean Campbell, a fall in 3:33 over Thomas Moore’s Landon Evans, and a 20-12 major decision win over Pitt-Johnstown’s Brady Baker. Foust earned a medical forfeit win over Ouachita’s Jimmy Anderson in the quarterfinals before pinning No. 11-ranked Nicholas Cottone of Millersville in 6:34 in the semifinals. He dropped a close 6-5 decision in the championship match to Gannon’s No. 1-ranked Jeremiah Echevarria.
