KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced a new Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week award winner in week 14 of the 2025-26 season. Arkansas-Fort Smith’s Christian Moore was named the MIAA Athlete of the Week for the Lions’ second weekly honor of the season.
MIAA MEN’S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Christian Moore, Arkansas-Fort Smith
Christian Moore helped the Lions to a 2-0 week with league wins over Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri on the road. The senior guard averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds while shooting 60.7 percent and 44.4 percent from three-point range. Moore tied his season-high 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting with three triples and seven assists in the 98-87 win at MoWest. The Lions’ 98 points against the Griffons was most against an NCAA Division II opponent this season. Moore then added 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting in the 73-68 win over the Bearcats in Maryville.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Tyrone Wright Jr., Missouri Southern
Tyrone Wright Jr. led Missouri Southern to a trio of MIAA wins last week, averaging 15 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting 53 percent. Wright Jr. opened the week notching 20 points and eight boards in the Lions’ 83-75 win over rival Pittsburg State last Monday (Feb. 16). He shot 60 percent from the field against the Gorillas. Wright then notched 10 points and nine rebounds in the 64-60 win against Fort Hays State on Thursday (Feb. 19). He concluded the week with 15 points and nine rebounds in his Senior Day 101-92 win over Nebraska Kearney on Saturday (Feb. 21).
Noah King, Missouri Western
Noah King averaged 26.5 points per game over the two MIAA contests, shooting 18-of-33 (54.5 percent) from the field, 4-of-9 (44.4 percent) from three-point range and 13-of-17 (76.5 percent) at the free-throw line. He added seven total rebounds (3.5 per game), eight assists, two steals and a block in 62 minutes of action. In the Griffons’ 98-87 loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith, King scored 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 1-of-4 from beyond the arc and 8-of-10 at the line, while adding two rebounds and five assists. He followed with 26 points in the 97-83 Senior Day win over Northeastern State, knocking down 9-of-19 from the floor and 3-of-5 from three, along with 5-of-7 at the stripe. King also recorded five rebounds, three assists and two steals in the victory.
Royce Williams, Northwest Missouri
Royce Williams averaged 20.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting 54.2 percent from the field as Northwest split home games with Northeastern State and Arkansas-Fort Smith. Williams put up 25 points and 10 rebounds in an eight-point home win over Northeastern State, hitting 7-of-11 from the floor. He also drained a trio of three-pointers against the RiverHawks. Williams then tallied 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in a 73-68 home loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith.
Matthew Willenborg, Central Oklahoma
Despite back-to-back losses for Central Oklahoma last week, Matthew Willenborg averaged 21.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 6.0 blocks per game for the Bronchos.
