KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its final women's indoor track and field athletes of the week for the 2022-23 season.
 
Indoor Track Athlete of the Week – Mattie Rossi – Fort Hays State      
Mattie Rossi recorded the 10th-fastest time in Division II history in the 600-meter run at the Nebraska Tune-Up, winning the race in 1:33.60. The time shattered the previous school record set 11 years ago by nearly three seconds. Rossi also placed in the top six in two other events in Lincoln, including the 60-meter hurdles (8.93) and the high jump (5-2.25).
 
Indoor Field Athlete of the Week – Megan McManis – Emporia State    
Megan McManis became the first Hornet woman to clear 13 feet in the pole vault as she went over 3.98m (13-0.75) to win the event at the Steve Miller Invitational hosted by Kansas State. The height current ranks 12th in Division II.
 
NOTABLE TRACK PERFORMANCES
Shenese Walker – Lincoln
Competing as the only non-Division I athlete in the finals of the 60-meter at the Arkansas Qualifier, Shenesee Walker finished as the runner-up with a time of 7.31. That time now leads the MIAA and ranks third in NCAA Division II. Walker beat athletes from Ohio State, Washington State and Arkansas to take second place.
 
NOTABLE FIELD PERFORMANCES
Gabirelle Oborny – Nebraska Kearney
Gabirelle Oborny broke a nine-year-old school record (12-4.75) in the pole vault by reaching 12-5.25 at the Loper Tune Up. It marks her fourth meet of the year reaching at least 12-0.
