KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its seventh MIAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the 2021-22 season.
MIAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Tre’Zure Jobe – Emporia State
Tre’Zure Jobe has been named the Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the first time this season. The sophomore guard averaged 19.5 points, 6.5 assists, 5.0 steals and 5.0 rebounds per game as the Lady Hornets ran their winning streak to three games. Jobe closed out 2021 with a 20-point performance which included eight assists and seven rebounds in ESU’s 88-74 win against Rogers State. She started 2022 with 19 points, a career-high eight steals and five assists in ESU’s 79-47 win at Lincoln. With her eight steals, Jobe passed Michelle Stueve for 10th on the Lady Hornet career list and now has 183 career steals. She is also 20th on the ESU career scoring list with 1,286 points.
Notable Performances
Mallory McConkey – Northwest Missouri
Mallory McConkey scored 23 points and went 9-of-10 from the field in leading Northwest Missouri to a 10-point home win, 61-51, over Missouri Southern. McConkey grabbed six rebounds, blocked a shot and handed out an assist in helping the Bearcats to a 5-1 start to MIAA play.
Hunter Bently – Washburn
Hunter Bentley helped the Ichabods to a pair of wins last week as she averaged 13.5 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. The senior guard had a team-high 18 points in the 66-59 win at Central Missouri, going 6-for-12 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line. She then closed out the week tallying 27 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and just two turnovers in 57 minutes of playing time while shooting 47.6 percent from the floor.
Trinity Law – Nebraska Kearney
Trinity Law, the Lopers starting guard, went for a career-high 23 points in a 63-51 win at Rogers State. Law totaled 19 points in the second half as the nationally ranked Nebraska Kearney pulled away from the Hillcats to win a 10th straight game. Law finished 7-of-12 from the field, 3-of-6 from the three-point line, drew five fouls, had three steals and grabbed seven rebounds.
