KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its second MIAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the 2021-22 season.
MIAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Kelsey Johnson – Central Oklahoma
Central Oklahoma had a tough week of three road games in five days. Kelsey Johnson led the way with a strong week of performances as the Bronchos went 1-2 on the week. Johnson led the league last week averaging 20.7 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per game for the week. The senior hit 56.8 percent of her shots and 84.6 percent of her free-throws. She posted 15 points and 13 rebounds at Southern Nazarene, 15 points and nine rebounds at Arkansas Fort Smith, and then, 32 points and 11 rebounds at Harding.
Notable Performances
Katie Wagner – Fort Hays State
Katie Wagner averaged 15.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in a pair of wins over tough regional opponents last weekend in Hays, Kan. She led the team with 13 rebounds in a win over St. Cloud State before totaling 22 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and three steals in a victory against previously undefeated Cameron.
Shiloh McCool – Nebraska Kearney
A redshirt sophomore reserve forward, Shiloh McCool averaged 16.0 points and 7.0 rebounds this week while shooting 93% from the field. She had back-to-back 16-point efforts, going 7-for-7 from the field in an upset win Saturday afternoon vs. nationally-ranked Mines. McCool logged a total of 42 minutes in the two games, fourth most on the Lopers.
Tre-Zure Jobe – Emporia State
Tre-Zure Jobe averaged 23.0 points per game as the Lady Hornets went 1-1. Jobe recorded a career high 35 points and seven rebounds in Emporia State’s road win at Lindenwood. She then added 11 points in ESU’s loss to No. 2 Drury.
