UCO's Estela Castillo Named MIAA Women's Golfer of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its first Golfer of the Week award in the 2026 spring season. Eight MIAA women’s golf teams returned to action this week, with teams competing in Oklahoma and Texas. Estela Castillo was the highest-finishing MIAA golfer at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational to be named the first MIAA Golfer of the Week in the 2026 spring season.
 
MIAA WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Estela Castillo, Central Oklahoma  
Estela Castillo tied for sixth individually to lead the Bronchos to the runner-up team finish at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational in Edmond, Okla., earlier this week. The junior posted a 147 (+7) with rounds of 73 (+3) and 74 (+4) this week.
 
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Susana Granados Carrion, Washburn
Susana Granados Carrion tied for seventh at the Rattler Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, shooting a three-round, 54-hole total of 225 (+8). It is the junior’s fourth top-10 finish of the season.
