KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its second women’s Golfer of the Week in the 2025-26 season. Twelve of thirteen MIAA women’s golf teams competed over the past two weeks, with Missouri Western’s Saya Schweitzer claiming an individual title and the second MIAA weekly honor of the season.
MIAA WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Saya Schweitzer, Missouri Western
Saya Schweitzer secured her first collegiate victory as Griffon Women’s Golf captured the team title at the Newman Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton. The win marked the program’s first team championship since the NSIC Preview in April 2023. MWSU posted a two-round total of 596 (+20), firing consistent scores of 298–298 to finish 14 strokes ahead of the field. Schweitzer earned medalist honors with a 6-under-par 138. She set the tone in round one with a blistering 67 (-5), highlighted by six birdies. She followed it up with a 71 (-1) in the final round, carding birdies on holes two, five, nine, and 14 to seal the individual crown.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Mia Rallo, Central Missouri
Mia Rallo paced the No. 13-ranked Central Missouri Jennies at the DBU Classic, held Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 22-23, at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas. Rallo opened the tournament on Monday with a 69 (-3), which placed her second overall after the first round and helped the Jennies shoot a team score of 295 (+7). She followed that up on Tuesday with a 74 (+2) to close the Classic at 1-under par 143, finishing ninth overall in a field stacked with eight nationally ranked programs. Due to Rallo's success, UCM finished sixth overall with a two-round team score of 587 (+11).
