KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its first women’s Golfer of the Week in the 2025 season. All 13 MIAA women’s golf teams competed in their first events of the 2025-26 season over the past two weeks with Arkansas-Fort Smith’s Aliesa Situmorang claiming the first individual title and MIAA weekly honor of the season.
MIAA WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Aliesa Situmorang, Arkansas-Fort Smith
Aliesa Situmorang won the individual crown at the NSU Women’s Classic with a two-round total of 143 (+1), leading the Lions to a runner-up finish in the 17-team event. Situmorang posted 16 pars in her final round as she carded an even 71. The sophomore from Frisco, Texas, totaled six birdies in her first round of 72 (+1) and finished the event with seven birdies overall – second most in the tournament. She also averaged one under par on par-5 scoring.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Mia Rallo, Central Missouri
Mia Rallo helped the No. 10-ranked Jennies to a tournament win at the Central Region Fall Preview Sept. 2-3 at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Mo. The senior from Wentzville, Mo., finished second on the leaderboard after compiling a 36-hole score of 141 (-3), tallying rounds of 69 (-3) and 72 (E).
Brianna Maddux, Rogers State
Brianna Maddux led the Hillcats to a team title at the NSU Women's Classic. The senior from Owasso, Okla., recorded a career-best second-place finish after carding a 144 (+2) through 36 holes. She shot an even 71 in the first round and 73 (+2) in the second round, and finished the tournament with five birdies.
Lauren Briggs, Northwest Missouri
Lauren Briggs secured a third-place finish at the 2025 Fall Central Region Preview held at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Mo. The sophomore from Burlington, Iowa, helped Northwest to a fourth-place finish among 18 teams, scoring a team total of 603 to rank as the third-best 36-hole total in program history. Briggs led the charge with a final round that included five birdies. She was tied for the tournament lead with three holes to play before settling into third place in the final standings. Briggs totaled eight birdies in the event for a two-round score of 144. Her two-round score of 144 tied for the fourth-best 36-hole individual score in program history. The third-place finish was Briggs's second career top-10 and top-five finish in her Bearcat golfing career.
Pella Broms, Nebraska Kearney
In her first collegiate tournament, Pella Broms shot an even par 144 (74-70) to tie for third place at the Central Region Preview in Blue Springs, Mo., Sept 2-3. Her second round included an eagle on hole one’s par-5 and ended with five straight pars. The Lopers placed second as a team, shooting an even 600.
