St. Charles, Mo. – Several records fell as Pittsburg State swept the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. PSU won the women’s title by 12.5 points over Central Missouri and they claimed the men’s title by 12 points over Missouri Southern.
 
The women’s high point award was shared by Central Missouri’s Heavin Warner and Erika Kinsey. The men’s high point award was claimed by Missouri Southern’s Jeff Fraley.
 
The championship got rolling with the multi-events, and Central Missouri’s Zoe Sharplin scored 5,240 points to win the MIAA title in the heptathlon. Her teammate Madison Smith was second with Pittsburg State’s Emilyn Dearman coming in third. In the men’s decathlon Central Missouri’s Tyler Chancellor scored 7,289 points to win the event. Tanner McNutt of Pittsburg State was second with his teammate Jeff Piepenbrink finishing in third.
 
Saturday opened up the field events as well with Raynor Caniggia of Central Missouri using a throw of 187’ 6” to claim the MIAA title in the men’s discus. Bo Farrow of Pittsburg State finished second with Missouri Southern’s Nicklas Polizzi coming in third. In the women’s event Heavin Warner made it a sweep for UCM throwing 163’ 10” to claim the championship. Jasmine Smith of Pittsburg State was second with her teammate Cassie Casswell finishing in third.
 
Central Missouri’s Erika Kinsey started the jumping events off by going 20’ 3” in the women’s long jump to become the MIAA champion. Pittsburg State’s Antqunita Reed was second with Missouri Southern’s Brittani Reagan finishing in third. In the men’s event Lincoln’s Edie Sedeekie jumped 25’ 1.25” to earn the league title. Lindenwood’s Michael Mlambo finished in second with Nebraska-Kearney’s Brady Land placing third. 
 
In the women’s pole vault Brittany Kallenberger of Central Missouri cleared a height of 13’ 3.5” to break the MIAA Outdoor Meet record. Maggie Wilson of Emporia State was second with Heather Glenn of Pittsburg State placing third. In the men’s pole vault, which was contested on Sunday, Cole Phillips of Central Missouri cleared 17’ 5.5” to finish in first. Jeff Piepenbrink of Pittsburg State placed second and Morgan Hold of Missouri Southern was third.
 
In the men’s hammer Caniggia Raynor of Central Missouri used a throw of 210’ 10” to claim the championship. Luke Wilson of Pittsburg State was second and Jace Kaleikau of Central Missouri was third. In the women’s hammer Heavin Warner set a meet record with a throw of 220’ 2” to claim the championship. Danyell Coons of Nebraska-Kearney finished in second and Lindsey Blackwell of Lindenwood was third.
 
In the final event of the day on Saturday Megan Glamann of Central Missouri finished in 35:42.60 to win the women’s 10,000 meter run. Jessica Macy of Pittsburg State was second and Kaitlyn Belisle of Missouri Southern came in third. In the men’s race Cory Keehn of Fort Hays State finished the 10,000 meters in 30:38.86 to claim the title. Eric Schott of Missouri Southern was second and Bryan Hill of Nebraska-Kearney finished in third.
 
In the women’s javelin Estefania Lopez had a throw of 161’ 1” to come in first overall. Madison Wolf finished second for Fort Hays State and Megan Honas her teammate was in third. In the men’s javelin Kyle Pfizenmaier of Emporia State had an automatic qualifying mark of 221’ 1” to win the event. Jordan Morton of Pittsburg State was second and Taylor Neff of Nebraska-Kearney finished in third.
 
Heavin Warner of Central Missouri won the women’s shot put with a 47’ 10.5” throw. Jasmine Smith of Pittsburg State was second and Cassie Casswell was third overall. In the men’s shot put Garrett Appier of Pittsburg State used a throw of 58’ 10” to earn the MIAA title. Deondra Canaday of Lindenwood was second and Bryan Burns of Missouri Southern finished third.
 
In the women’s triple jump Erika Kinsey of Central Missouri finished first with a  jump of 43’ 0.25” to set an MIAA Outdoor Meet record. Antqunita Reed of Pittsburg State was second and Kedra Smith of Lindenwood finished third. In the men’s triple jump Darion Boure of Missouri Southern jumped 49’ 11.75” to win the event. Owen Smith of Lincoln came in second and Peyton Mizera of Northwest Missouri was third.
 
Kinsey picked up her third title of the week as she cleared 6’ 3.5” to set another meet record in the women’s high jump. Her teammate Madison Smith finished second and Natalie O’Keefe was third in the event. In the men’s event Samuel Saidi of Emporia State finished first with a 7’ 0.25” clearance. George Charalambous of Central Missouri was second and Northwest Missouri’s Kevin Schultz came in third.
 
As things moved to the track on the final day Lincoln used a time of 45.80 to win the women’s 4x100 meter relay. Pittsburg State came in second and Central Oklahoma finished in third. In the men’s race Pittsburg State claimed first place with a 40.51 fininsh. Lindenwood was second and Missouri Southern came in third on the day.
 
Things then moved to the women’s steeplechase where Morgan Benesch of Nebraska-Kearney finished in 11:07.14 to claim the 10 points. Katherine Sitzes of Southwest Baptist finished in second place and Sierra Gray came in third. In the men’s race Nick Knudson finished in 9:17.56 to earn the title. Talon Thompson finished in second from Pittsburg State and Thomas Chabrecek of Southwest Baptist was third.
 
In the women’s 1,500 meter run Kindra Emberton of Missouri Southern turned in a 4:38.90 to claim the championship. Elizabeth Luckel of Southwest Baptist finished in second and Monique Thompson came in third. In the men’s 1,500 meters Travis Furtkamp of Southwest Baptist turned in a 4:00.87 pace. Emporia State’s Jacob Bull finished in second and Brody Wild of Pittsburg State was third.
 
In the women’s 100 meter hurdles Ladonna Richards of Lincoln set a new meet record finishing in 13.22 to earn the title. Courtney Nelson of Pittsburg State was second and Madison Smith of Central Missouri came in third. In the men’s 110 meter hurdles Andrew Etheridge finished in 14.28 to win the championship. Nebraska-Kearney’s Dillon Schrodt was second and Justin Burks of Pittsburg State was third.
 
In the women’s 400 meter dash Mary Bergman of Southwest Baptist finished in 54.47 to earn the title. Willomena Williams of Lincoln was second and her teammate Lovan Palmer finished third. In the men’s race Miguel Barton of Lincoln ran a 47.68 to earn the MIAA title. Duke Tibbs of Emporia State finished second and Maverick Bowleg of Southwest Baptist was third.
 
In the women’s 100 meter dash Janae Johnson of Lincoln finished first with an 11.49 pace. Her teammate Yanique Ellington was second and Antqunita Reed of Pittsburg State finished in third. In the men’s event Jeff Fraley of Missouri Southern ran a 10.23 to claim the championship. Jason Crow of Pittsburg State was second while his teammate Bryce Starks finished in third.
 
In the women’s 800 meter run Jhevere Hall of Lincoln used a pace of 2:08.58 to set a meet record and win the MIAA title. Kindra Emberton of Missouri Southern was second and Monique Thompson of Lincoln finished in third. Kellin Loch of Central Missouri finished in 1:50.34 to win the men’s 800 meter run. Jeromia Riley of Lincoln was second and Jordan Smith of Emporia State finished in third.
 
In the women’s 400 meter hurdles Emilyn Dearman of Pittsburg State turned in a 59.62 to claim the MIAA title. Ladonna RIchcards of Lincoln was second and Shamela Gray of Lindenwood finished third. In the men’s race Dwayne Lawrence of Southwest Baptist used a 52.21 to claim the title. Marquel Nickens of Pittsburg State was second and Winston Edwards of Lincoln finished in third.
 
In the women’s 200 meter dash a 23.71 by Janae Johnson of Lincoln was good for first place. Her teammate Yanique Ellington finished in second and Juannae Lewis of Central Oklahoma was third. In the men’s race Jeff Fraley of Missouri Southern was first with a  20.66 pace in the event. Miguel Barton of Lincoln was second and Juwan Cubit of LIndenwood came in third.
 
In the women’s 5,000 meter run Jessica Macy turned in a 17:32.79 to win the race. Megan Glamann of Central Missouri finished in second and Kaitlyn Belisle of Missouri Southern was third. Cory Keehn of Fort Hays State turned in a 15:12.65 to claim the MIAA title in the men’s race. Ben Barrows of Central Missouri was second and Drew Cargill of Southwest Baptist finished in third.
 
In the final event of the meet Lincoln set the pace at 3:44.68 to claim the title in the women’s 4x400 meter relay. Northwest Missouri finished second and Central Missouri was third in the event. In the men’s relay Lincoln ran a 3:11.91 to earn a spot on top of the podium. Central Missouri finished in second place and Southwest Baptist came in third overall.
