INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association totaled 152 individual event entries and 10 relay team entries with multiple student-athletes competing in more than one event at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted by Emporia State University May 21-23 at the Zola Witten Track at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan.
Sixteen teams (eight men’s teams, eight women’s teams) will represent the MIAA at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships this weekend in Emporia. The MIAA will have a total of 146 student-athletes (76 men, 70 women) competing in a combined 162 events (152 individual events, 10 relay events).
The three-day event will open on Thursday, May 21, with the combined events at 10:30 a.m., field events at 12:30 p.m., and track events at 4:50 p.m. The action resumes on Friday, May 22, with combined events at 9:30 a.m., field events at 1:30 p.m. and running events at 5:30 p.m. The final day on Saturday features field events at noon, while track events begin at 3:30 p.m. The full schedule of events is listed below.
In-person spectators can purchase single-day tickets for adults at $21.95 and $16.70 for students/senior citizens. Two-day passes are available at $40.75 for adults and $30.25 for students/senior citizens. Fans can
purchase tickets in advance or at the Francis G. Welch Stadium box office.

The Gorillas lead the MIAA with 43 combined individual entries and four total relay team entries. Missouri Southern earned 28 total individual entries and one men’s relay team. Northwest Missouri totaled 15 individual entries and three relay team entries. Central Missouri, Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney totaled 12 individual entries apiece, with the Jennies also qualifying one relay team. National Championship hosts Emporia State combined for 11 individual entries and one relay team entry. Washburn earned eight total individual entries.
Forty MIAA student-athletes (21 women, 19 men) qualified for two events while six others (five women, one man) are set to compete in three different events at the 2026 outdoor championships:
- Grizell Scarlett, Central Missouri – Women’s 100 Meter Dash, Women’s 200 Meter Dash & Women’s 4x100 Meter Relay
- Briar Gillium, Missouri Southern – Women’s Shot Put, Women’s Hammer Throw & Women’s Discus Throw
- Kennedi Cline, Northwest Missouri – Women’s 400 Meter Dash, Women’s 4x100 Meter Relay & Women’s 4x400 Meter Relay
- Lily Brown, Pittsburg State – Women’s Triple Jump, Women’s High Jump & Women’s Heptathlon
- Mikah Edwards, Pittsburg State – Women’s 400 Meter Dash, Women’s 4x100 Meter Relay & Women’s 4x400 Meter Relay
- Logan Davis, Pittsburg State – Men’s 400 Meter Dash, Men’s 4x100 Meter Relay & Men’s 4x400 Meter Relay
Pittsburg State men are the four-time defending outdoor national champions. Grand Valley State is the defending outdoor national champion on the women’s side. The MIAA totaled 58 First Team All-America performances and had eight individual national championships and one national championship relay team at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Pitt State men and women are fresh off a sweep of the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships, marking the second consecutive season the Gorillas claimed both men’s and women’s indoor national titles.
