New MIAA/GAC Men's Tennis Athletes of the Week, Presented by ClassicCourt

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced new MIAA/GAC Men's Tennis Athletes of the Week for week four of the 2026 season, presented by ClassicCourt – the official tennis surface of the MIAA. Nebraska Kearney's Andy Brisdon earned his second Athlete of the Week award in the North Division and Uwe Diehl claimed Southern Arkansas's second Athlete of the Week honor in the South Division. 
 
NORTH DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Andy Brisdon, Nebraska Kearney       
Andy Brisdon was undefeated while helping Nebraska Kearney go 2-0 at home last weekend, upsetting No. 18 Midwestern State on Friday night (Feb. 20) and Rockhurst on Saturday. The junior from the United Kingdom finished 4-0 overall, playing at No. 1/2 doubles and No. 2 singles. In the 4-3 upset over MSU, Brisdon won 6-1, 6-4 against Juan Duque before teaming up with Ivan Melnik to claim a 6-3 victory over Matthew Earle and Germano Setti – the No. 16-ranked doubles pair in Division II. In the 6-1 win over Rockhurst, Brisdon won in three sets at No. 2 singles after teaming up with Melnik again for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

SOUTH DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Uwe Diehl, Southern Arkansas
Uwe Diehl had a terrific weekend, going 6-0 as Southern Arkansas battled ranked opponents in Tyler, Texas. Uwe and his doubles partner opened the weekend by clinching the Muleriders’ only doubles game of the match against No. 6 Lubbock Christian. The duo defeated LCU’s No. 1 pairing 6-3 before Diehl defeated Andrea Rossi Principe 6-1, 7-6(4) at No. 5 singles. Diehl also finished unbeaten against No. 5 UT-Tyler, winning 7(10) - 6(8) at No. 1 doubles and 6-3, 7-5 at No. 5 singles. The junior from Germany concluded the week with a 7-6 doubles victory and a 6-3, 7-5 singles win in SAU’s 6-1 win over Texas Permian Basin. Diehl was the only Mulerider to go a perfect 6-0 on the weekend. 
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Killian Martinez, Washburn  [NORTH DIVISION]
Kilian Martinez was unbeaten in the No. 4-ranked Ichabods’ sweep over No. 18 Midwestern State in Washburn’s only action of the week. He and Tommy Cecchetti teamed up at No. 1 doubles to win 6-3 over No. 11-ranked Juan Duque and Bruno Sanchez to clinch the doubles point. In singles, the freshman from Switzerland won another ranked battle, defeating No. 33-ranked Juan Duque in two sets, 6-3 and 6-2 in the sweep. 
 
Diego Calvo, Emporia State [NORTH DIVISION]
In Emporia State’s 4-1 win at former MIAA member Southwest Baptist, Diego Calvo teamed with Anton Sarunic to deliver the doubles point for the Hornets with a 7-6 (7-3) win at No. 1 doubles. The junior from Italy then gave the Hornets a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles.
 
Aaron Osmond, Ouachita [SOUTH DIVISION]
Aaron Osmond was the only Tiger to go 2-0 in both singles and doubles in Ouachita's wins over McKendree and Collin College (6-1). In the 4-3 win over McKendree, he and teammate Moritz Buss won 7-6 at No. 2 doubles. Osmond then won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 singles over McKendree's Luka Kalenic, who’s ranked No. 15 in the Midwest region. In the 6-1 against Collin College, Osmond and Buss won 6-1 over their opponents on court two. His final win of the weekend was a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 3 against Boitshepo Maake.
