UNK's Calie Dockter Named MIAA Women's Golfer of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced a new Women’s Golfer of the Week for the 2026 fall season. Nebraska Kearney’s Calie Dockter won the individual title at the 2026 Nebraska Intercollegiate earlier this week to be named the latest MIAA Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
GOLFER OF THE WEEK:  Calie Dockter, Nebraska Kearney
Calie Dockter earned medalist honors on Tuesday (Oct. 6) following the final round of the annual Nebraska Intercollegiate at the Centura Hills Golf Club in Cairo, Nebraska. The junior from Byron, Minnesota, carded rounds of 74 (+2) and 71 (-1) for a 36-hole total of 145 (+1) to top the field of 49. She won the event with a four-stroke lead and managed an eagle, four birdies, and 25 pars in the 36-hole event. Dockter's play helped the Lopers to the team title by seven strokes, carding a team total of 601 (308-293). 
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Layne Ailshie, Central Oklahoma
Layne Ailshie led Central Oklahoma to a fourth-place finish at the Grace Shin Invitational, sponsored by Visit Edmond at the Golf Club of Edmond. Ailshie finished tied for fifth in the individual standings with a 36-hole total of 143 (+1). The junior from Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, opened the event with an even-par 71 on Monday (Oct. 5) before finishing with 72 (+1) on Tuesday’s final round (Oct. 6). Ailshie tied as the high MIAA finisher in the event with Pitt State's Elise Eckert and Northwest Missouri's Lauren Briggs.
 
Elise Eckert, Pittsburg State
Elise Eckert finished in a tie for fifth place with a two-round score of 143 (+1) at the Grace Shin Invitational earlier this week in Edmond. Eckert shot rounds of 70 (-1) and 73 (+2) and collected six birdies over 36 holes to lead the Gorillas to a ninth-place team finish in the 21-teamed event. This is the first top-five finish for Eckert in her collegiate career and the lowest two-round tournament score (143, +1) in program history.
 
Lauren Briggs, Northwest Missouri
Lauren Briggs earned her fourth consecutive top-five finish and the seventh top-five finish of her collegiate career with a tie for fifth place at the Grace Shin Invitational in Edmond. Briggs shot a second-round score of even-par 71 after carding a 72 (+1) in the opening round for a total score of 143 (+1) to tie for the fourth-best mark in Bearcat program history. Briggs notched four birdies and 28 pars, which tied for the second-most pars in the 119-player field.
