Her first goal of the week came in the first half against Newman last Friday (Oct. 9), before picking up an assist in the 61st minute to help cap the 3-0 win over the Jets. Against the Ichabods on Sunday (Oct. 11), Favot picked up her second goal of the week and seventh of the season in the first half as the Hornets played to a 1-1 draw with Washburn. Favot currently leads the MIAA with 20 points on the season.
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: Anjaleena Gomez, Fort Hays State
Anjaleena Gomez was instrumental in Fort Hays State holding its opposition to just one goal last week in a pair of ties against MIAA opponents. Gomez then helped the Tigers hold No. 3-ranked Pittsburg State scoreless in the 0-0 draw in Hays last Sunday (Oct. 11). Gomez played all 90 minutes of each contest. The Griffons and Gorillas are both among the top six of the initial Central Region NPI rankings released by the NCAA.
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK: Katie Stoskopf, Fort Hays State
Katie Stoskopf helped the Tigers to a pair of draws in MIAA action this past week, including a shutout of No. 3-ranked Pittsburg State. The senior keeper made 10 saves over two matches and allowed just one goal in the 1-1 draw with Missouri Western.
