Southwest Baptist placed four runners in the top ten to win the MIAA Women’s Cross Country Championship. Southwest Baptist had just 35 points, coming in 37 points ahead of Nebraska-Kearney, their nearest competitor. Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern and Central Missouri rounded out the top five.

Individually for the women Pittsburg State’s Jessica Macy, who came into the meet with the league’s best 6K time, won the race with a 21:08.82 finish. Twishanna Williams of Lincoln finished in 21:42.08 to place second. Southwest’s Baptist’s Ashley Wokomir ran a 21:54.10 to finish just ahead of teammate Karissa Fisher at 22:00.36 for third and four place.

Anne Herbert of Northwest Missouri rounded out the top five finishing in 22:02.31 ahead of Central Missouri’s Megan Glamman who set a 22:04.76 pace. In seventh place Elizabeth Luckel of SBU ran a 22:05.45 just ahead of teammate Krenda McClure who finished at a 22:05.58 pace. Dora Eastin of Missouri Southern finished in 22:11.89 and Nebraska-Kearney’s Liz Damman ran a 22:13.27 to round out the top ten. The top ten finishers in the race earn All-MIAA status for the 2013 season.
