Bolles, Williams, and Chilson Earn Weekly Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Blake Bolles (Northwest Missouri), Deondre Williams (Missouri Western) and Tyler Chilson (Emporia State) have been named MIAA Football Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 18 as selected by a conference SID panel. All three are first-time honorees in 2010.

MIAA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Blake Bolles, QB, Northwest Missouri
Bolles finished with a passer rating of 258.93 in Northwest Missouri's 58-23 win over Nebraska-Omaha. The senior from Lincoln, Neb., tied his career high with 421 passing yards despite not playing the entire fourth quarter (large lead). He averaged 25 yards per completion. Bolles orchestrated five consecutive touchdown drives in the first half (7 of 11 drives resulted in TDs). Five of the seven touchdown drives required less than one minute (0:26, 0:30, 0:58, 0:42, 0:36). Bolles had one punt that was downed on the 3-yard line.

MIAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Deondre Williams, LB, Missouri Western
Williams had a career night in helping the Griffons defeat the highly-powered Ichabods. The senior from St. Louis, Mo., intercepted a Simoneau pass at the Griffons' 20-yard line in the first half and scampered 80 yards for a TD, putting Western up 28-7 with 2:20 left in the first frame. Williams then sealed the victory, intercepting his second pass of the game on a fourth-and-2 at the Griffons' 39-yard line. This marked the second interception for a touchdown in his career as he had one against UCM in 2008 to help Western defeat the Mules, 42-41. Williams also finished with six tackles and one pass break-up on the night.

MIAA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Chilson, P, Emporia State
Chilson forced fair catches on seven of nine punts and placed five inside the MSSU 20-yard line in ESU's 30-27 win over the Lions. The junior from Topeka, Kan., averaged 36.9 yards on nine punts.
