KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association made a slight adjustment to its current staff roles. Taylor Savolt, who has spent the last two academic years as the Association’s Director for Student-Athlete Development, will now also oversee the conference office’s external affairs and corporate relations.

Taylor Savolt was hired as the MIAA’s first-ever Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development in August of 2024. A former MIAA student-athlete and NCAA Division II All-American, Savolt earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fort Hays State University. She was a seven-time All-MIAA performer on the Tigers’ women’s track and field team from 2019 to 2024, twice earning All-America honors in the 400-meter hurdles.

Savolt has spent the past two years working closely with MIAA student-athletes, overseeing many of the Association’s awards programs and growing the MIAA’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Savolt has also played a key role in hosting a handful of MIAA championships and events.

In addition to her current duties, Savolt will now also work closely with the Association’s corporate sponsors and partnerships with the focus of finding external businesses and organizations that want to help the MIAA enhance its student-athlete experience.
