KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) has announced a new partnership with the Missouri State Highway Patrol to serve as the presenting sponsor of The MIAA Network.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has a primary purpose of enforcing the traffic laws and promoting safety upon Missouri highways. Their vision is to excel as a criminal justice leader in the delivery of quality services and ensure Missouri is a safe place to live or visit.
The multi-year agreement will make the Missouri State Highway Patrol the presenting sponsor of The MIAA Network through the 2027-28 academic year. The MIAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will also have the opportunity to connect and network with representatives of the Missouri State Highway Patrol during their annual meetings.
“We’re excited that the MIAA is partnering with the Missouri State Highway Patrol to create meaningful connections between our student-athletes and professionals in law enforcement,” said MIAA Director for Student-Athlete Development, Taylor Savolt. “With all 14 of our member institutions offering degrees in criminal justice or criminology, and 67 of our 2024-25 academic award winners majoring in those fields, this partnership creates a natural connection for student-athletes to explore career paths that align with their academic and professional interests.”
"Since its inception in 2017, the MIAA Network has been looking for the perfect partner to serve as the presenting sponsor for MIAA regular season and conference championship broadcasts," said Mike Racy, MIAA Commissioner. "We have found that today in our new partnership with one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the country! The Missouri State Highway Patrol was created in 1931, and for decades it has recruited the best and brightest to serve as uniformed officers. The MIAA is excited to use our powerful sports media platform to help the Missouri State Highway Patrol reach MIAA student-athletes, our MIAA communities and MIAA fans across the country."
This collaborative effort will allow the Patrol to engage with individuals who demonstrate the teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills that align closely with the agency’s mission of service and integrity. Through this partnership, the Patrol will participate in MIAA events, career fairs, and outreach initiatives to share information about employment opportunities in law enforcement, computer technology, forensic science, accounting, and other specialized fields.
“The values that drive success in athletics commitment, integrity, and perseverance are the same qualities that make great members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol,” said Captain Danielle Heil of the Recruiting and Community Outreach Division. “By partnering with the MIAA, we can connect with individuals who are already striving for excellence and looking to make a meaningful difference in their communities."
