KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association’s Annual Awards Celebration returns to the Kansas City Music Hall on Monday, June 3 in downtown Kansas City.
The 2024 MIAA Awards Celebration Ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3 in the Kansas City Convention Center’s Music Hall — 301 W 13th St., Kansas City, MO 64105. MIAA fans planning to attend the event should RSVP at

The event features the recognition of the recently inducted MIAA Hall of Fame Class of 2024. The class consists of eight former student-athletes, two former coaches and one former administrator. To learn more information on the 2024 class,

The finalists for the 2023-24 Ken B. Jones Award will also be recognized at the event with the winners for the Association's top male and female student-athletes of the year announced during the ceremony. To learn more information on the MIAA’s 2023-24 Ken B. Jones finalists,

The evening will also include recognitions for this year’s recipients of the Dr. Bob Boerigter Officiating Award of Excellence, the MIAA SAAC Cup, and the 2023-24 MIAA Commissioner’s Cup, presented by
McCownGordon Construction. The Gorillas claimed the 2023-24 MIAA Commissioner's Cup for the third straight year. Pittsburg State's Athletics Director Jim Johnson will be in attendance to accept the Association's All-Sports Trophy.
Blair Kerkhoff will emcee for the MIAA Awards Celebration Ceremony for the seventh consecutive year. Kerkhoff has worked as a sportswriter for the Kansas City Star for over 30 years and was elected into the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Hall of Fame in 2016. His work in Kansas City has allowed him to cover over 26 NCAA Division I Final Fours, 30 NCAA Division I Regional Finals and two Major League Baseball World Series. Kerkhoff has also authored five books in his career. The longtime sportswriter is a frequent guest on Sports Radio 810 WHB and 41 Action News in Kansas City. He was most recently inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, Class of 2023, for his career in sports writing at the Star.
