KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association is excited to announce advancements within its staff and the addition of a new position.
The MIAA CEO Council has approved the promotion of Senior Associate Commissioner,
Amber Feldman, to Deputy Commissioner, effective July 1, 2022.
Feldman joined the MIAA in July of 2011 as the Association’s Assistant Commissioner/Senior Woman Administrator. Feldman oversees the internal operations of the conference office. She handles the various aspects of NCAA and MIAA compliance, scheduling, awards, financial operations and officiating management. Feldman is also the administrator of multiple MIAA championships.
Feldman is currently participating in the NCAA’s Pathway Program for the 2022-23 academic year. The Pathway Program is designed to provide the participants with the skill set to further propel their careers. Feldman will graduate from the program at the 2023 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) convention in Orlando, Fla.
The MIAA CEO Council also approved the promotion of its Coordinator of Digital and Strategic Communications,
Brenna Winn, to Director of Communications, effective July 1, 2022.
Winn joined the Association in July of 2021. She oversees all communication, public and media relations efforts for the conference office and handles the maintenance of the MIAA’s official website and social media accounts. Winn works closely with member communication/sports information directors and assists in MIAA championship preparation and execution.
The CEO Council also approved the addition of a fifth staff member to be added to the conference office. The new staff member will join the Association in the office at Hy-Vee Arena, located in the historic West Bottoms of downtown Kansas City, Mo.
The position will be classified as an entry level position with primary responsibilities for NCAA and MIAA governance and compliance. The position will also assist in marketing and sponsorship efforts related to MIAA special events and MIAA championships.
In addition, the MIAA CEO Council has also extended the contract of MIAA Commissioner
Mike Racy for two years, through June 2026.
Racy was hired as the Association’s fifth full-time Commissioner in September of 2016 and began his tenure in February of 2017. Racy is an accomplished education, legal and sports executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience in higher education. Racy has utilized his higher education leadership positions to develop and implement innovative and strategic programming to enhance the learning environment for college students.
