Over 880 Spring Sport Student-Athletes Recognized With Academic Honors

Academic Excellence, Scholar Athlete, Honor Roll Awards Announced for Spring Sports

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA has announced its academic honors for the 2018-2019 spring sports season. The awards include Academic Excellence, Scholar-Athlete and Academic Honor Roll for baseball, men’s and women’s golf, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field.

42 student-athletes earned the distinguished Academic Excellence Award. An MIAA Academic Excellence Award recipient must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 4.00 or better at the certifying member institution. The honoree also must have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. For the complete list of Academic Excellence members, click here.

This spring’s Scholar-Athlete list includes over 110 student-athletes. To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete an individual must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.50 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. If competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, the student-athlete must earn All-MIAA honors. To see the complete list of Scholar-Athletes, please click here.

The achievement of Academic Honor Roll was accomplished by more than 880 student-athletes. To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The Academic Awards for all first-year student-athletes (freshmen and transfers) will be announced on Tuesday, June 18.
