KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The ten finalists for the 2017-18 Ken B. Jones award have been announced. Five female and five male student-athletes from MIAA member institutions comprised the group of 10 finalists. The Ken B. Jones award recognizes the MIAA’s top female and male student-athlete from the academic year.
The 2017-18 Female finalists are Taylor Bevis from Central Oklahoma, Mikaela Burgess from Pittsburg State, Diana Cauldwell from Lincoln University, Allie Heckemeyer from Missouri Southern and Abby Rhodes from Central Missouri.
2017-18 Male finalists are Brad Currier from Lindenwood, Sedeekie Edie from Lincoln University, Bo Farrow from Pittsburg State, Doyin Jibowu from Fort Hays State and Brady Skeens from Washburn.
Finalists were selected from a field of 12 male nominations and 11 female nominations at various MIAA member schools. A committee of 15 administrators in the MIAA and conference office ranked each nominee to determine the finalist.
The winner of the Ken B. Jones Award will be announced at the 2017-18 MIAA Awards Celebrations presented by Husch Blackwell on Monday, June 4 at the Truman Forum Auditorium in the Kansas City Public Library’s Plaza Branch.
