St. Cloud, Minn. – Fifth seeded Missouri Western got 13 hits, but could not overcome a five run second inning by top seeded St. Cloud State as they were eliminated 10-4 at the NCAA Division II Central Regional.
 
The Huskies got the scoring started with a solo home runs in the top of the first inning. The Griffons would answer in the bottom half of the inning as Kody Matthews hit a sacrifice fly driving home Orencio Fisher.
 
SCSU would then strike for five runs in the top of the second inning as they used a double and three singles to plate the runs. The Huskies would grab two more runs on back-to-back home runs in the top of the fifth inning to make it an 8-1 lead.
 
MWSU would get a run back in the bottom of the fifth as Fisher homered over the left field wall. Jeremy Alvarado would homer in the bottom of the next inning hitting one over the fence in left center.
 
Nick Gawley would single to drive home Fisher in the bottom of the seventh inning to make it an 8-4 advantage. SCSU would plate runs in the top of the eighth and ninth inning making it a 10-4 lead heading into the Griffons final at bat.
 
For the Griffons Orencio Fisher went three for five with three runs scored and a run driven in. Nick Gawley and Jeremy Alvarado also each finished with three hits and at least one run driven in.

MWSU finishes up the season 38-20 and were the runners-up in the MIAA Postseason Tournament.
