Springfield, Mo. –Top seeded Northeastern State and second seeded Southwest Baptist both advanced to the championship at the MIAA Women's Tennis Tournament.

#1 Northeastern State 5, #4 Northwest Missouri 1
Northeastern State swept through doubles on the way to a 5-1 victory over Northwest Missouri in the semifinal round of the MIAA Women’s Tennis Championship.
 
The RiverHawks opened things in doubles with an 8-1 victory from Molly Worden and Patricia Husakova in the #1 slot. At #2 doubles it was Daria Panfernova and Valeriia Efimenko with an 8-1 tally and at #3 Andrea Gallardo and Kaja Emersic of NWMSU pulled out a 9-7 win.
 
In singles it was Patricia Husakova finishing first with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the #1 singles spot. Molly Worden pulled out a 6-4, 6-1 win at #4 singles and Valeriia Efimenko won 6-4, 6-2 at #3 singles to close out the match.
 
#2 Southwest Baptist 5, #3 Nebraska-Kearney 1
Southwest Baptist earned a spot in the MIAA Championship match with a 5-1 victory over Nebraska-Kearney.
 
The Bearcats started thing in doubles as #1 doubles Christian Zentiai and Lara Soares and #2 doubles Josie Zehnder and Lani Tuemmers each pulled out 8-1 wins. UNK’s Paula Jiminez and Emma Neil earned an 8-4 win at #3 doubles.
 
In singles Josie Zehnder earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory to start things out at #2 singles. At #3 singles Soares pulled out a 6-4, 6-1 win and Zorana Jovanovic closed things out 6-1, 6-0 at #6 singles to seal the win.
 
Southwest Baptist and Northeastern State will face off in the Championship match at 12 noon on Sunday, May 1 from Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
