Kearney, Neb. – Top seeded Nebraska-Kearney will face off with second seeded Washburn in the MIAA Volleyball Championship at 7 p.m. from Kearney, Neb.
The Lopers are led by Annie Wolfe who is averaging 3.13 kills per set while hitting .390 for the year. Tara Ziegelbein is hitting team best .400 while leading the team in blocks averaging 0.99 per set. Lindsey Smith is the team’s primary setter averaging 11.73 assists while Ellie McDonnell is averaging 4.77 digs per set.
The Ichabods are led by Leanna Willer who is averaging 3.64 kills and Sarah Vicory who is averaging 3.93 kills per set while hitting a team best .393 for the season. Vicory also leads the squad in blocks with 1.04 per set while Makayla Maxwell averages 0.94 blocks per set. Natalie Bates is averaging a team best 8.29 assists per set with Alyssa Carney averaging 5.34 digs per set.
The winner will receive the MIAA's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division II National Championship with all the other squads awaiting the selection show for the rest of the tournament field on Monday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. on ncaa.com.
