St. Cloud, Minn. – Emporia State could not overcome a three-run first inning as they were eliminated 4-2 by Henderson State from the NCAA Division II Central Reigonal.
 
HSU jumped on top in the bottom of the first inning scoring three run and adding a fourth run in the bottom of the fourth inning. ESU got on the board as Evan Koehler doubles and grabbed their first run. ESU added a second run in the top of the eighth as Dalton Wheat scored on a Dean Long single.
 
On the mound Garrett Brummett went six inning allowing just one run and striking out three while Shawn Talkington pitched two innings of scoreless baseball and striking out three.
 
Emporia State went 40-16 on the season as they are eliminated from the Central Regional.
