Kansas City, Mo. -- Another game went to overtime as the mid-week portion of the week 12 MIAA basketball schedule came to a close.
Nebraska-Kearney at Fort Hays State
WBB: #3 FHSU 69, UNK 52
#3 Fort Hays State held Nebraska-Kearney to just 18 first half points as they earned a victory at home. FHSU got 21 points off of turnovers as they stayed perfect at 13-0 in league play this season.
For the Tigers Kate Lehman led the way with a double-double scoring 17 points and pulling down 15 rebounds while also blocking five shots. Beth Bohuslavsky scored 11 points and Keriann Shaw added nine rebounds as Nikola Kacperska had a team best three assists. For the Lopers both McKenzie Brown and Amarah Williams finished with 17 points. On the glass Laramey Lewis had ten rebounds and Alexa Hogberg dished out a game high six assists.
MBB: FHSU 88, UNK 77
Fort Hays State used a strong 49 point second half to earn a victory at home over Nebraska-Kearney. FHSU shot .518 from the field as they moved to 7-6 in the league this season.
For the Tigers Dom Samac led the way scoring 25 points and pulling down a game high nine rebounds. James Flemming finished with 23 points and three assists while Achoki Moikobu added 17 points and three assists. For the Lopers Trey Lansman scored a game high 35 points and Davion Perason dished out a game high five assists. Connor Beranek added 15 points while on the glass Ethan Brozek pulled down eight rebounds.
Central Missouri at Southwest Baptist
WBB: UCM 79, SBU 67
Central Missouri put up 51 second half points as they earned a win on the road at Southwest Baptist. UCM got 15 second chance points as they moved to 7-6 in the league this season.
For the Jennies Revonnia Howard had a double-double with 22 points and 15 boards and Justina Prairie Chief had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jasmine Thompson had 14 points and Shelby Winkelmann had 12 points as they each dished out three assists. For the Bearcats Dilonna Johnson had a game high 31 points and dished out a team best five assists. Alexis Edwards scored 12 points while pulling down a team best seven rebounds.
MBB: UCM 67, SBU 64 OT
Central Missouri got a three-point with three seconds left to force overtime, where they came out with a win over Southwest Baptist on the road. UCM held off a late overtime charge by SBU to move to 9-4 in the league this season.
For the Mules Brennen Hughes led the way with a double-double scoring 17 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Preseton Brunz added 16 points as TJ White and Kyle Wolf each finished with seven rebounds. For the Bearcats Menas Stephens had a double-double scoring 13 poinnts and pulling down 13 rebounds. Derrick Stewart finished with a game high 19 points and Daymond Cowlah added 12 points.
Northeastern State at Central Oklahoma
WBB: UCO 62, NSU 47
Central Oklahoma held Northeastern State to just 16 first half points as they earned the win at home. UCO shot .500 from the field for the game as they moved to 7-6 in the MIAA this season.
For the Bronchos Chelsea Robinson led the way scoring 15 points and dishing out a game high seven assists. Olivia Mason added 14 points while Kylie Mayes and McKenzie Solberg each pulled down a team best seven boards. For the RiverHawks Kate Bellamy led the scoring 12 points on the night. Fontana Tate added 11 points and Bria Pierce led the way on the glass with six rebounds.
MBB: UCO 77, NSU 49
Central Oklahoma held Northeastern State to just 13 first half points as they picked up a win at home. UCO got 21 points off of turnover and shot .481 from the field as they moved to 7-6 in league play.
The Bronchos were led by Reggie Sloan who had 16 points as Seth Heckart and Cal Andrews each dished out four assists. Heckart added 15 points and Phillip Brown had 12 points while Jarred Bairstow pulled down a team best six boards. For the RiverHawks Dakota Caudill led the way scoring 14 points on the evening. On the glass Keon Littleton had eight rebounds and Amir Gilliam dished out three assists.
