More teams earn spots in the MIAA Tournament

Kansas City, Mo. -- More teams punched their tickets into the MIAA Tournament field as week 13 came to a close in MIAA basketball.

Missouri Western at Missouri Southern
WBB: MSSU 81, MWSU 69
Missouri Southern got the line 42 times hitting 35 free throws in a win at home over Missouri Western. MSSU also got 21 points out of their bench players as they moved to 10-5 in the league this season.
 
The Lions were led by Camila Lacerda who scored 25 points while dishing out a team best five assists. Nicole Hartzog had 20 points and added a team best four steals and Jenseon Maydew led the way on the glass with eight boards. For the Griffons LaQuinta Jefferson led the way with a  game high 27 points. Miliakere
Koyamainavure had a doubled-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Sarafina Handy added 10 points.
 
MBB: MSSU 83, MWSU 77
Missouri Southern shot .545 from behind the three-point line as they defeated Missouri Western at home. As a team MSSU came up with seven steals as they moved to 8-6 in the MIAA this season.
 
For the Lions Taevaunn Prince had 16 points and pulled down a team best nine rebounds. Lane Barlow had 16 points, Cameron Cornelius added 15 points and Greg Renfroe finished with 14 points. For the Griffons Cortrez Colbert scored a game high 17 points and Aaron Emmanuel dished out six assists. Kevin Thomas had a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
 
Central Oklahoma at Emporia State
WBB: #9 ESU 80, UCO 67
#9 Emporia State got 34 points off of their bench as they defeated Central Oklahoma on their home floor. ESU outrebounded UCO 42-34 as they moved to 12-4 in the league play this year.
 
For the Lady Hornets Kelly Moten led the way scoring 14 points and adding six rebounds while Kathryn Flott had 12 points. Addie Lackey added 11 points and Jacee Kramer finished with 10 points while on the glass Krystie Miller led the way with eight boards. For the Bronchos Julia Mason had 14 points and Kylie Mayes added 13 points. Olivia Mason scored 11 points and led the way on the glass with seven rebounds.
 
MBB: UCO 74, ESU 69
Central Oklahoma shot .561 from the field as they defeated Emporia State on the road. UCO shot .650 in the second half alone as they moved to 9-7 in the league this season.
 
For the Bronchos Phillip Brown led the way scoring a game high 23 points and Trai Jordan had a team best five rebounds. Cal Andrews added 13 points while Seth Heckart dished out a team high four assists. For the Hornets Jay Temaat led the way with 20 points while on the glass Micaeh Swank added six boards. Terrence Moore finished with 13 points and dished out a game high five assists.
 
Fort Hay State at Pittsburg State
WBB: #10 PSU 65, #2 FHSU 59
#10 Pittsburg State erased a five-point halftime deficit as they upset #2 Fort Hays State in Pittsburg. PSU took the lead with 6:10 to play and never relinquished it as they moved to 13-2 in the MIAA.
 
For the Gorillas Lizzy Jeronimus had 17 points and seven boards while Cathy Bruman had 17 points and eight rebounds. Antqunita Reed finished with 10 points and Mikaela Burges and Hailey Roderique each added seven rebounds. For the Tigers Kate Lehman had 19 points and eight rebounds on the afternoon. Beth Bohuslavsky had 11 points, eight rebounds and team best five assists while Jill Faxon finished with 10 points.

MBB: PSU 77, FHSU 63
Pittsburg State shot .520 from the field in the second half as they earned a win over Fort Hays State at home. PSU outrebounded FHSU 33-21 as they moved to 11-4 in the league this year.
 
For the Gorillas Josiah Gustafson led the way scoring 16 points while Trevor Gregory added 15 points, Trey Starks had 12 points and Dakota Jones finished with 10 points. Javis Flynn led the way on the glass pulling down seven rebounds while dishing out a team best six assists. For the Tigers James Flemming led the team with 15 points and Achoki Moikobu added 14 points. Dom Samac had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists on the afternoon.
 
Lincoln at Southwest Baptist
WBB: LU 61, SBU 48
Lincoln held Southwest Baptist to just 17 first half points as they earned a victory on the road. LU held SBU to just .271 shooting for the game as they moved to 6-10 in the league this season.
 
For the Blue Tigers Kelsey Williams led the way scoring 15 points and pulling down a team best nine rebounds along with Lizzie Nessling. Kayton Cole had 14 points, Kate Frazier added 12 points and Hunter Yoakum finished with 10 points. For the Bearcats Leann Terrill led the way scoring a game high 19 points. On the glass Dilonna Johnson and Alexis Edwards each pulled down eight rebounds.
 
MBB: SBU 89, LU 66
Southwest Baptist shot .582 from the field as they defeated Lincoln on their home floor. SBU shot .737 from behind the three-point line as they moved to 5-10 against league opponents this year.

For the Bearcats Menas Stephens led the way with a double-double scoring 18 points and pulling down a game high 12 rebounds. Derrick Stewart had 14 points, Patrick Burke added 12 points and Finn Delany had 11 points. For the Blue Tigers Joshua Buie scored a game high 20 points and dished out three assists. Aaron Spudich had 14 points and eight boards while Malcolm McDonald finished with 14 points as well.
 
Lindenwood at Central Missouri
WBB: UCM 72, LWU 55
Central Missouri was able to hold LIndenwood to 21 points in the first half as they earned a win at home. UCM shot .533 from the field themselves in the second half as they moved to 10-6 in the league.
 
For the Jennies Tayler Welks had 16 points and three assists while Jasmine Thompson finished with 13 points. Revonnia Howard had 10 points and led the way on the glass with nine rebounds. For the Lions Jenny Rocha led the way as she scored a game high 18 points. On the glass Vanessa Zailo had a team best eight rebounds.
 
MBB: #22 UCM 58, LWU 53
#22 Central Missouri held Lindenwood to 14 first half point as they held on to win at home. UCM got 17 bench points and 10 on the second chance as they moved to 12-4 in the league this season.
 
For the Mules TJ White had a double-double scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Brad Woodson and Preston Brunz each finished with 10 points while Brennen Hughes pulled down a team high 11 boards. For the Lions Darris Smith had 14 points, five rebounds and three assists. Chanse Creekmur added 11 points and Cory Arentsen had 10 points while on the glass Garrett Reeg pulled down nine rebounds.
 
Northeastern State at Washburn
WBB: WU 83, NSU 58
Washburn shot .554 from the field as they picked up a win at home over Northeastern State. WU got 35 points from their bench players as they moved to 8-8 in league play.
 
For the Ichabods Taylor Ignoto led the way scoring 17 points while Honor Duvall had 13 points and seven rebounds. Janelle Travis had 11 points while Erika Lame finished with 10 points and four assists. For the RiverHawks Brian Pierce was the only player in double figures scoring 12 points. Fontana Tate and Chelsey Beathard each finished with nine points on the evening.
 
MBB: WU 92, NSU 68
Washburn shot .527 from the field as they defeated Northeastern State at home in Topeka. WU got 56 points off of their bench as they moved to 8-8 in the league this season.
 
The Ichabods were led by Kyle Wiggins who scored a game high 26 points and Alex North pulled down 12 rebounds. Kevin House added 16 points and Christian Ulsaker finished with 14 points. For the RiverHawks Demone Harrison finished with 20 points on the evening. C.J. Winzer finished with 18 points and a team best five rebounds.
