Kansas City, Mo. -- Week number nine comes to a close in MIAA basketball with six double headers on the slate.

Northwest Missouri at Central Missouri
WBB: NWMSU 61, UCM 60
Northwest Missouri got two free throws with eight seconds to play as they defeated Central Missouri on the road. NWMSU shot .500 from behind the three-point line as they moved to 2-7 in league play.
 
For the Bearcats Ariel Easton led the way with 17 points and four assists while Tember Schechinger added 12 points and eight boards. Tanya Meyer finished with 11 points and Bailey Smith had 10 points on the afternoon. For the Jennies Justina Prairie Chief had a double-double scoring 15 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Jasmine Thompson had 13 points and Shelby Winkelmann added 11 points and five rebounds.
 
MBB: #25 UCM 66, NWMSU 61
#25 Central Missouri shot .556 in the game as they picked up victory over Northwest Missouri on their home floor. UCM got 11 second chance points and shot above .600 percent in the first half as they moved to 6-3 in the league this season.
 
The Mules were led by Rakeem Dickerson who had 20 points on the afternoon. Brennen Hughes finished with 18 points and team best nine rebounds while TJ White added 12 points and six boards. For the Bearcats Conner Crooker and Justin Pitts led the way scoring 16 points each. Zach Schneider had 11 points while on the glass Grant Cozad and Matt Wallaced had six rebounds.
 
Missouri Western at Southwest Baptist
WBB: SBU 65, MWSU 62
Southwest Baptist scored 17 points off of turnovers as they picked up victory over Missouri Western at home. SBU was outshot from the field but got 28 points from their bench as they moved to 2-6 in MIAA play.
 
For the Bearcats Leann Terrill had 17 points and Megan Rosenbohm had 15 points on the afternoon. On the glass Alexis Edwards led the way with five boards and Dilonna Johnson dished out four assists. For the Griffons LaQuinta Jefferson led the way as she scored 17 points. Miliakere Koyamainavure finished with 16 points and added a game high eight rebounds.
 
MBB: MWSU 65, SBU 64
Missouri Western got a lay-up with just six seconds to play as they defeated Southwest Baptist on the road. MWSU erased a 14-point halftime deficit to move to 4-5 in the league this season.
 
For the Griffons Kevin Thomas led the way with 11 points and Cortrez Colbert also added 11 points to a team best seven rebounds. Dareon Jones had 10 points and Aaron Emmanuel who hit the game’s final shot finished with three assists. For the Bearcats Menas Stephens came just shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. David Gabrovsek had 13 points and Derrick Stewart added 11 points on the afternoon.

Missouri Southern at Lincoln
WBB: MSSU 63, LU 58
Missouri Southern shot .500 from the field in the second half as they picked up a win on the road at Lincoln. MSSU had 10 second chance points and got 22 points from the bench as they moved to 5-3 in MIAA play.
 
For the Lions Sharese Jones led the way scoring 12 points and also pulling down five rebounds. Also in double figures were Alexis Fitzpatrick, Tami Morice and Jolee Sharp who all finished with 10 points. For the Blue Tigers it was Kate Frazier leading the way with 12 points on the afternoon. Kelsey Williams and Lizzie Nessling each had 11 points and Kayton Cole finished with 10 points.
 
MBB: MSSU 82, LU 74
Missouri Southern survived a second half comeback by Lincoln as they earned a win away from home. MSSU shot .652 from the field in the first half as they built a 17-point lead and held on to move to 5-3 in the league.
 
The Lions were led by Charlie Brown who had 13 points and Austin Wright who finished with 12 points. Greg Renfroe added 11 points and Brandon Pines and Taevaunn Prince each had 10 points. For the Blue Tigers Joshua Buie had a game high 19 points and added six assists. Jeremy Jackson finished with 13 points and on the glass Buie and Omar Muhammad each had five boards.
 
Northeastern State at Fort Hays State
WBB: FHSU 71, NSU 41
Fort Hays State held Northeastern State to just 17 first half points as they earned a win on their home floor. FHSU held NSU to just .276 shooting from the field as they remained a perfect 9-0 in the MIAA.
 
For the Tigers Kate Lehman had a double-double with 18 points and adding 10 rebounds. Also in double figures was Chelsea Mason who had 18 points and Beth Bohuslavsky dished out four assists. For the RiverHawks Chelsey Beathard led the way scoring 16 points on the afternoon. On the glass Kate Bellamy led the way as she pulled down 10 rebounds.
 
MBB: FHSU 77, NSU 49
The Fort Hays State men also held Northeastern State to 17 first half point as they earned a win at home. FHSU shot .600 from the field in the game as they moved to 5-4 in the MIAA.
 
For the Tigers Jeremy Wilson scored 17 points and Achoki Maikobu had 14 points and a team best nine rebounds and six assists. Royce Williams added 12 points and Dom Samac finished with 11 points. For the RiverHawks Dakota Caudill had a game high 20 points while pulling down seven rebounds. Amir Gilliam and Trey Mohair each dished out a team best three assists.
 
Washburn at Pittsburg State
WBB: #5 PSU 60, #18 WU 40
#5 Pittsburg State scored 35 second half points to pull away in a victory over #18 Washburn at home. PSU held WU to just .185 shooting in the second half as they moved to 6-1 in the league this season.
 
The Gorillas were led by a double-double from Lizzy Jeronimus who scored 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Elena Flott added six rebounds and Antqunita Reed and Paige Lungwitz added five boards each. For the Ichabods Honor Duvall had seven points and seven rebounds and Jayna Smith finished with seven points and eight boards.

MBB: PSU 82, WU 40
Pittsburg State shot .582 from the field as they earned a victory at home over Washburn. PSU also shot .600 from the three-point line as they moved to 6-2 in the league this year.
 
For the Gorillas Josiah Gustafson had a game high 23 points and Trevor Gregory added 12 points and seven rebounds. Javis Flynn had 11 points and seven assists while Devon Branch added 10 points and nine boards. For the Ichabods Kyle Wiggins led the way with 11 points and three assists. On the glass Alex North added four total rebounds.
 
Central Oklahoma at Nebraska-Kearney
WBB: UNK 65, UCO 62
Nebraska-Kearney got three-pointer with 20 seconds to play as they defeated Central Oklahoma at home. UNK outrebounded UCO 43-38 as they moved to 5-4 in the league this season.
 
For the Lopers Amarah Williams had a double-double scoring 19 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. Alex Hogberg had 12 points and six assists as McKenzie Brown added 11 points and Kelsey Fitzpatrick 10 points. For the Bronchos Olivia Mason was in double figures scoring 15 points. On the glass McKenzie Solberg had seven boards and Chelsea Robinson dished out four assists.
 
MBB: UNK 83, UCO 80
Nebraska-Kearney held off a second half charge from Central Oklahoma as they earned a victory on their home court. UNK got to the line 24 times hitting 20 of the free throw as they moved to 6-3 in league play.
 
The Lopers were led by Connor Beranek who had 19 points and nine rebounds and Ethan Brozek with 19 points and eight boards. Ty Daneilson had 15 points and Isaiah McKay had 12 points on the evening. The Bronchos were led by Mahlon Jones who scored 23 points and dished out four assists adding three steals. Reggie Sloan added 15 points while Phillip Brown added 13 points and seven boards.
