Kansas City, Mo. – Southwest Baptist and Pittsburg State split as they made up a game postponed earlier this season.
Southwest Baptist at Pittsburg State
WBB – PSU 73, SBU 58
Pittsburg State held Southwest Baptist to just 23 first half points as they picked up a victory at home. PSU got 29 points from their bench and shot .458 from the field as they moved to 9-3 in the league this season.
For the Gorillas Lizzy Jeronimus led the way with 17 points while Kylie Gafford pulled down seven rebounds. Antqunita Reed had 15 points and Cathy Brugman added 12 points on the night. For the Bearcats Jacqui Zelenka had a double-double scoring 20 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Morgan Lucy had 15 points and Brook Duncan added seven boards.
MBB – SBU 89, PSU 74
Southwest Baptist got 49 second half points as they picked up a win on the road at Pittsburg State. SBU got 39 points from their bench and shot .527 from the field as they moved to 4-8 in league play this season.
For the Bearcats Desi Barmore had a double-double scoring 26 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Derrick Stewart had 17 points, David Gabrovsek had 15 points and Rashaad Brown-Peterson finished with 14 points. For the Gorillas Devon Branch led all scorers with 32 points on the night. Connor Kjer had 14 points and nine rebounds while Jake Bullard added 12 points.
