Kansas City, Mo. – Week six brought to a close the pre-holiday portion of the MIAA schedule.
 
Emporia State at Missouri Southern
WBB: #1 ESU 75, #22 MSSU 53
#1 Emporia State shot .510 from the field as they picked up a victory on the road at #22 Missouri Southern. Emporia State racked up 17 points off of turnover as they moved to 2-0 in league play.
 
The Lady Hornets were led by Addie Lackey who was four of five from the three-point line scoring 21 points. Kelsey Barnwell added 16 points, Merissa Quick finished with 12 points and Kathryn Flott pulled down 12 rebounds. For the Lions Tami Morice had 12 points off of the bench. Nicole Hartzog finished with 10 points and Sharese Jones had a team best six boards.
 
MBB: MSSU 84, ESU 69
Missouri Southern led by as much as 21 points as they picked up a victory over Emporia State at home. MSSU won the battle on the glass pulling down 41 boards to just 35 by ESU as they moved to 2-1 in the league this season.
 
For the Tigers it was Taevaunn Prince leads the way with a double-double scoring 21 points and pulling down 13 boards. Lane Barlow would also finish with a double-double as he scored 20 points and added 12 boards. For the Hornets Terrence Moore led the way with 16 points and Terrence Sardin had a team best eight rebounds. Tyler Jordan, Micha Swank and Josh Pedersen all finished with 11 points.
 
Northeastern State at Central Missouri
WBB: UCM 56, NSU 53
Central Missouri held off a strong Northeastern State comeback to pick up a victory at home. Leading by just one with 38 seconds Central Missouri scored the final two points to move to 2-1 in league play this season.
 
The Jennies were led by Shelby Winkelmann who scored 15 points and pulled down five rebounds. Tayler Welks finished with 11 points and Jasmine Thompson added 10 points. For the RiverHawks Fontana Tate led the way with 14 points and a total of seven rebounds. Chsley Beathard finished with 11 points and Bria Pierce also had seven rebounds.
 
MBB: #3 UCM 81, NSU 62
#3 Central Missouri used 42 first half points to propel themselves to a victory at home against Northeastern State. UCM got 44 points off of their bench as they moved to 2-1 in the MIAA this season.
 
For the Mules Rakeem Dickson led all scorers with 21 points as Jordan Epps added 20 points. TJ White had a double-double scoring 12 points and pulling down 11 rebounds as Dillon Deck added 10 points. For the RiverHawks it was Demone Harrison leading the way scoring 20 points and adding five rebounds. Trey Mohair added nine points and four rebounds on the afternoon.
 
Washburn at Lindenwood
WBB: LWU 70, #8 WU 64
Lindenwood never led by more than six points, but held on to upset #8 Washburn at home. LWU racked up 20 points on the second chance as they moved to 1-3 in the MIAA play this season.
 
For the Lions Kassidy Gengenbacher led all scorers finishing with 28 points while Jenny Rocha added 12 points. On the glass Vanessa Zailo had 15 total rebounds to lead all players. For the Ichabods Taylor Ignoto finished with 23 points and Honor Duvall led the team with eight boards. Caysn Buchman finished with 13 points on the afternoon.
 
MBB: LWU 72, WU 59
Lindenwood scored 43 second half points as they picked up a victory at home over Washburn. LWU shot .564 from the field as they moved to 2-2 in the MIAA this season.
 
The Lions were led by Cory Arentsen who had 13 points and Sam Mader with 12 points and eight rebounds. Garrett Reeg had 11 points and Darris Smith and LJ McIntosh each finished with 10 points. Kyle Wiggins led the way for the Ichabods with 14 points while dishing three assists. Algie Key had 13 points and David Salach and Alex North each had six rebounds.
 
Central Oklahoma at Missouri Western
WBB: UCO 79, MWSU 64
Central Oklahoma parlayed a 41-point second half into a victory on the road at Missouri Western. UCO shot .583 from the three-point line as they moved to 3-1 in the MIAA this season.
 
The Bronchos were led by Kylie Mayes who had 16 points and Marley Anderson who added 14 points. Julia Mason had 13 points and a team high seven rebounds while Olivia Mason finished with 12 points. For the Griffons Chelsea Dewey led the way with 20 points and a team best five assists. Sarafina Handy added 19 points to the effort on the afternoon.
 
MBB: UCO 62, MWSU 57
Central Oklahoma held Missouri Western to just 18 first half points as they picked up a victory on the road. UCO pulled down 41 rebounds while allowing MWSU just 31 boards as they moved to 4-0 in league play.
 
For the Bronchos Garen Wright led the way scoring 15 points and pulling down nine rebounds. Trai Jordan had 11 points and seven boards while Phillip Brown added 10 points to eight rebounds. For the Griffons Cortrez Colbert had a game high 25 points on the night. Kevin Thomas added 13 points and five rebounds while Dareon Jones finished with 12 points.
 
Fort Hays State at Northwest Missouri
WBB: FHSU 71, NWMSU 52
Fort Hays State had a total of 33 points off of turnovers as they picked up a victory on the road at Northwest Missouri. FHSU forced 29 NWMSU turnovers on their way to a 3-0 record in league play.
 
The Tigers were led by Chelsea Mason who had 19 points and Paige Lunsford added 15 points to five rebounds. Kate Lehman had 11 points and five boards on the afternoon. For the Bearcats Ariel Easton led the way scoring 11 points and pulling down a team best eight rebounds. Tanya Meyer had 10 points and Tember Schechinger added seven boards.
 
MBB: NWMSU 74, FHSU 66 OT
Northwest Missouri allowed just two points in the overtime period as they picked up a victory at home over Fort Hays State. NWMSU did not miss a shot in the extra period as they moved to 2-1 in league play.
 
For the Bearcats Justin Pitts led the way with 19 points and six assists while Zach Schneider added 18 points. Grant Cozad had 17 points and eight rebounds and Conner Crooker finished with 15 points. For the Tigers Craig Nicholson led the way with 16 points and Dom Samac had 11 points and six boards. James Fleming finished with 12 points and Jeremy Wilson also had 11 points.
 
Nebraska-Kearney at Lincoln
WBB: LU 90, UNK 68
Lincoln shot .492 from the field as they picked up a victory at home over Nebraska-Kearney. LU got 25 points off of turnover as they moved to 1-3 in league play this season.
 
For the Blue Tigers Hunter Yoakum had 19 points, Kate Frazier added 18 points and Dorian Briggs had 16 points. Lizzie Nessling finished with a double-double scoring 16 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. For the Lopers Amarah Williams had a double-double with 25 points 11 boards while McKenzie Brown had 14 points. Laramey Lewis finished with 12 points and eight rebounds on the afternoon.
 
MBB: UNK 90, LU 85
Nebraska-Kearney used 51 second half point to earn a victory on the road at Lincoln. UNK shot .542 from the field in the game as they moved to 3-1 in the MIAA this season.
 
For the Lopers Connor Beranek scored a game high 32 points and pulled down a team best eight boards. Ethan Brozek added 20 points and seven rebounds while Trey Lansman added 13 points. For the Blue Tigers Victor Scott led the way with 22 points and Joshua Buie added 18 points. Malcolm McDonald finished with 16 points and Aaron Spudich had 10 points and seven boards.
 
Pittsburg State at Southwest Baptist
MBB:
Pittsburg State stormed back from a 14-point halftime deficit as they picked up a victory on the road at Southwest Baptist. PSU held SBU to just 23 points in the second half as they moved to 2-0 in league play this season.
 
For the Gorillas Devon Branch led the way with 20 points as Denton Hays added 11 points and seven rebounds. Connor Kjer also added 11 points while Jarvis Flynn scored 10 points on the night. For the Bearcats Finn Delaney scored 16 points while Daymond Cowlah added 13 points. Menas Stephens had a double-double scoring 12 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.
