Kansas City, Mo. – Four double headers got things underway in week six of MIAA basketball as team have one more game heading into the holiday break.
 
Washburn at Lincoln
WBB: #8 WU 61, LU 46
#8 Washburn held Lincoln to just 16 first half points as they picked up a victory on the road. WU got 18 points from their bench as they moved to 2-1 in the league this season.
 
For the Ichabods Taylor Ignoto led the way with a game high 19 points on the night. Honor Duvall finished the game with 13 points and seven rebounds. The Blue Tigers were led by Kate Frazier who finished with 14 points. Seleena Neal had 11 points and led the way on the glass with eight rebounds.
 
MBB: WU 73, LU 55
The Washburn men held Lincoln to 17 first half point as they earned a win away from home. WU got 19 points off of turnover as they are now 2-1 in MIAA play this season.
 
For the Ichabods Kyle Wiggins led all scorers in the game with 31 points knocking down four three-pointers. Algie Key and Alex North each finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Joshua Buie was the leading scorer for the Blue Tigers finishing with 17 points on the evening. Victor Scott had 12 points and Aaron Spudich led the way with four rebounds.
 
Nebraska-Kearney at Lindenwood
WBB: UNK 73, LWU 67
Nebraska-Kearney held Lindenwood to just .364 from the field as they picked up a victory in St. Charles. UNK outrebounded LWU 43-37 as they move to 1-2 in league play this season.
 
The Lopers were led y Laramey Lewis who had 19 points and added seven rebounds. Aarmah Williams and Alexa Hogberg each had 15 points and Kelsey Fitzgerald added 12 points and a team best nine rebounds. For the Lions Kassidy Gengebacher led all scorers with 37 points. Jenny Rocha had 11 points and Vanessa Zailo finished with a game high 17 rebounds.
 
MBB: LWU 83, UNK 64
Lindenwood shot .580 from the field and .684 from the three-point line as they picked up a victory over Nebraska-Kearney at home. LWU racked up 18 points off of turnovers as they moved to 1-2 in the league this season.
 
For the Lions Darris Smith led all scorers as he finished with 22 points on the evening. Cory Arentsen added 10 points and a game high six assists as Chanse Creekmur had 11 points. For the Lopers Ethan Brozel finished with 20 points and six rebounds while Trey Lansmen added 13 points. Connor Beranek had 12 points and six rebounds and Isaiah McKay had 10 points.
 
Northeastern State at Missouri Western
WBB: MWSU 68, NSU 35
Missouri Western held Northeastern State to just .250 from the field as they picked up a victory at home. MWSU got 24 points from their bench and 22 points off of turnover as they moved 1-1 in the league this season.
 
For the Griffons Sarafina Handy led the way with 13 points and Alex Saxen added 11 points and six rebounds. Arianna Novak and Milikere Koyamainavure each had 10 points and Koyamainavure had eight rebounds. For the RiverHawks Kate Bellamy had 15 points to lead her team. On the glass Bria Pierce had six points and Bellamy added five rebounds.
 
MBB: MWSU 83, NSU 78 OT
Missouri Western needed overtime, but they picked up a victory at home over Northeastern State. MWSU got 31 bench points and 19 points off of turnover as they moved to 1-1 in the MIAA this season.
 
For the Griffons Cortrez Colbert led the way with 25 points and Aaron Emmanuel and Dareon Jones finished with seven rebounds each. West Mitter finished with 12 points and Colbert dished out five rebounds. For the RiverHawks Keon Littleton finished with a double-double scoring 22 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Michael Harmon had 14 points, Trey Mohair added 11 points and Montre’ Williams finished with 10 points.
 
Central Oklahoma at Central Missouri
WBB: UCM 63, UCO 58
Central Missouri erased a ten-point halftime deficit as they earned a victory at home over Central Oklahoma. UCO shot .520 from the field in the second half as they moved to 1-1 in the league this year.
 
For the Jennies Jasmine Thompson led the way with 18 points and Shelby Winkelmann added 14 points. Revonnia Howard had a double-double scoring 14 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. For the Bronchos Olivia Mason led the way as they scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Haley Weathers scored 12 points and dished out four assists.
 
MBB: UCO 72, #3 UCM 57
Central Oklahoma shot .541 in the second half as they earned an upset victory over #3 Central Missouri on the road. UCO held UCM to just .272 shooting from the field and just one three-pointer as they move to 3-0 in the league this season.
 
For the Bronchos Mahlon Jones led the way with 18 points and dished out three assists. Cal Andrews had 17 points and six rebounds while Seth Heckart added seven boards. For the Mules Rakeem Dickerson finished with 18 points while dishing out three assists. On the glass Brennan Hughes added 11 rebounds.
