Kansas City, Mo. -- Central Missouri used a five run eighth inning to finally break through against Missouri Southern in a 7-3 win in the Central Regional.

Missouri Southern struck first plating a run in the bottom of the first inning. Central Missouri would then plate five in the eighth and two in the ninth to go ahead for good. The Mules only had six hits, but took advantage of five Lion errors in the ballgame.

For the Mules John Oropeza went two for four with two runs driven in. Jon Cotter was one for one in the game and scored two runs as well as driving in another. Barrett Noirfalise was one for three and scored two runs. Samuel Domingue and Chase Graskewicz each drove in runs.  Travis Higgs earned the win allowing just one run over 7.2 innings pitched while striking out five.

For the Lions Michael McCoy was three for five with two runs scored on the afternoon. Dallas Burke was two for four on the day with one runs scored. Sam Ryan went two for five with two runs driven in. Tee Helsel went two for four on the afternoon. Drew Noble allowed just two hits and two earned runs in the loss.

Central Missouri will play an opponent to be named later tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. from Franklin Rodgers Park in Mankato, Minn.
