Kansas City, Mo. -- The MIAA baseball season moves into it's fourth week as most teams play their second league series.

#9 Central Missouri opens MIAA play on the road

#9 Central Missouri will face Pittsburg State at home this weekend before traveling to Southwest Baptist in the mid-week. They are led at the plate by Kyle Grieshaber who is hitting .480 with four home runs and nine runs driven in. On the mound Jake Heissler is 2-0 with a 2.45 earned run average and has 16 strikeouts.

Central Oklahoma returns to Edmond for home games

Central Oklahoma went 1-2 to open MIAA play on the road at Southwest Baptist and will open at home this weekend. At the plate Matt Johnson is hitting .667 with two runs batted in. On the mound Jake Tuck earned the teams first win going 3.2 innings allowing two hits and striking out four.
 
Emporia State hits the road in MIAA play
Last Week: 2/16 l. to MWSU 8-5 & 7-6; 2/17 l. to MWSU 12-2; 2/19 d. NSU 7-5, l. to NSU 7-3

Emporia State is 2-7 to open the season after picking up their first MIAA win against Northeastern State. At the plate Todd Schultz is hitting .500 with two home runs and nine runs driven in. On the mound Garrett Bane has 10.0 innings pitched allowing only four runs and striking out seven.

Fort Hays State hits the road

Fort Hays State moved to 2-3 in league play with a sweep of Washburn and will hit the road this week. At the plate Ryan Busboom is hitting .371 with four home runs. On the mound Nathan Zimmerman is 2-0 with a 6.48 earned run average.

Lincoln returns home to face ESU

Lincoln went 1-2 on the road at UNK to open MIAA play and will face ESU and LWU this week. At the plate Colby Shepherd is hitting .421 with five runs driven in. On the mound Scott Jones has the team’s lone win with a 8.03 ERA and three strikeouts.

Lindenwood hits the road in week four

Lindenwood went 2-1 to open MIAA play and will hit the road to start week 4 of play. Mike Wilson is hitting .412 with four runs scored and three driven in. On the mound Austin Klein is 1-0 with 5.1 innings pitched and four strikeouts.

Missouri Southern returns home to start week five

Missouri Southern opened MIAA play 1-2 against LWU and will return home to start week five. At the plate Nick Doughty is hitting .310 with six RBI. On the mound David Reese is 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA and eight strikeouts.

Missouri Western has weekend schedule altered

Missouri Western is 3-0 in league play after sweeping the weekend at Emporia State. At the plate Kyle Simpson is hitting .480 with one home run and seven runs batted in. Brandon Simmons is 2-0 with a 1.00 earned run average and seven strikeouts.

Nebraska-Kearney hit the road to start week five

Nebraska-Kearney went 4-1 in their opening week of MIAA play and will face MSSU and WU in week four. Danny Droll is hitting .500 with one home run and five runs batted in. On the mound Adam Peters is 1-0 with 2.70 ERA in 10.0 innings pitched with five strikeouts .

Northeastern State faces TSU at home in week four

Northwest State opens their MIAA campaign 3-2 and will face TSU at home before traveling to PSU. At the plate Cody Robinson is hitting .333 with one home run and six runs batted in. On the mound Addison Williams is 1-0 with 1.69 ERA and five strikeouts.

Northwest Missouri returns home to face LWU

Northwest Missouri will look to bounce from a four game losing skid in week four. At the plate Ryan Abernathy is hitting .355 with seven runs scored. Blane Ruetter is 1-1 on the mound with five strikeouts.

Pittsburg State faces #9 UCM on the road

Pittsburg State opened the year 2-0 and will travel to #9 UCM to open week four. Thomas Evans is hitting .875 with two home runs and six RBI. Matt Stalcup and Brett Cares are both 1-0 and have yet to allow a run.

Southwest Baptist opens the year at 4-1

Truman stays out on the road

Upcoming: 2/22 at NSU 1 p.m.; 2/23 at NSU (DH) 12 p.m.
Truman will look to bounce back from three straight losses as they head to NSU. Corbin Williams is hitting .412 with four runs scored and six driven in. Logan Siegler is 1-0 with no earned runs allowed in 6.0 innings pitched.

Washburn steps outside league play
