UNK sweeps LWU to open a three-day weekend schedule

Kansas City, Mo. – Nebraska-Kearney swept past Lindenwood as they opened the weekend portion of week seven play.

WBB – UNK 78, LWU 71
Nebraska-Kearney got 29 points from their bench as the picked up a win at home over Lindenwood. UNK led for 36 minutes of the game as they moved to 2-2 in league play this season.

For the Lopers Kelsey Fitzgerald led the way with a double-double scoring 12 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Laramey Lewis added 19 points and Amarah Williams had seven boards. For the Lions Caroline Bourlioux had 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Jenny Rocha and Marissa Lehnig each had 17 points and Kassidy Gengenbacher added 12 points.

MBB – UNK 98, LWU 96
Nebraska-Kearney got 10 second chance points and pulled out a close game at home over Lindenwood. UNK hit 25 of 29 from the free throw line while UNK shot .680 as they moved to 2-2 in league play.

For the Lopers Connor Beranek scored 40 points, pulled down five rebounds and had two steals. Tyler Shields finished with 25 points and eight rebounds while Kevin Dineen added 10 points. For the Lions Darris Smith led the way with 31 points and Tyler Ressel finished with 19 points. Brandon Marquardt and Garrett Reeg each had 13 points on the night.
