PITTSBURG, Kan. – Northwest Missouri men clinched their second consecutive cross country title at the 2025 MIAA Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University at the Four Oaks Golf Course. Northwest’s Aziz Mohammed was crowned the 2025 individual champion with a winning time of 24:16.06.
All 12 MIAA men’s cross country teams were in Pittsburg, Kansas, on Saturday, October 25, for the Association’s 2025 Cross Country Championships. The Bearcat men totaled 54 points to win the team title, edging out the host Pittsburg State Gorillas by 13 points. Northwest had all five of its scoring finishers place within the championship’s top 25.
The 2025 title is the Bearcats’ second straight championship win and the program’s third team title overall (2025, 2024 and 1972).
Aziz Mohammed was crowned the individual champion, winning the men’s race in 24:16.06 – the eighth-best eight-kilometer winning time in the championship’s history. The senior from Dunkwa-on-offin, Central, Ghana, is only the second Bearcat in championship history to claim the individual title. Northwest's Grant Bradley was the first-ever Bearcat to capture the crown, winning the 2024 MIAA Championship in 23:21.10.

Mohammed’s teammate Drew Atkins was the individual runner-up, crossing the finish line in 24:23.71. Washburn’s Donald Kibet finished third in 24:31.75, followed by Pittsburg State’s Nathan Hinrichs in fourth place (24:41.78) and Missouri Western’s Pau Valderrama in fifth place (24:45.69).
The top ten finishers at the championship earn First Team All-MIAA honors while runners who placed 11-20 receive All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors. The All-MIAA finishers from the 2025 MIAA Men’s Championship are listed below.

MIAA teams will now prepare for the 2025 NCAA Division II Central Region Championships, hosted by Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo., on November 8.
