KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA’s first champions of the 2019-2020 season will be crowned this weekend. The 2019 Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, October 26 in Joplin, Missouri at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.

In the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)  poll, Missouri Southern was ranked No. 6 and Northwest Missouri was No. 12. The USTFCCA Men’s Central Region poll had the MIAA occupying six of the top 10 spots led by Missouri Southern in the top spot. The USTFCCA Women’s Central Region Poll had three teams ranked from the Association, including Central Missouri at No. 5.

Championship Saturday begins at 10 a.m. with the women’s 6K race followed by the men’s 8K race at 11 a.m. After the conclusion of both races, individual medals and the team trophy presentations will take place. Interviews with individual champions and each coach winning coach will be available on the MIAA social media platforms.
