Kansas City, Mo. – Missouri Southern placed three runners in the top ten and all five scorers in the top 15 to claim the MIAA Men’s Cross Country Championship. For the women Southwest Baptist placed four in the top ten to claim their second straight MIAA Women’s Cross Country Championship.
 
In the men’s race Northwest Missouri earned the second place spot behind the strength of second and fourth place individual performances. Pittsburg State was third, Fort Hays State came in fourth and Southwest Baptist rounded out the top five.
 
Individually for the men Vincent Kiprop turned in a time of 24:17.98 to claim his second straight individual title. Running behind him was Brayden Clews-Proctor of Northwest Missouri who turned in a 24:40.73 and Jacob Klemz of Washburn placed third. Nolan Zimmer of Northwest Missouri was fourth with Cristobal Renteria of Missouri Southern rounding out the top five.
 
Also earning top ten honors were NWMSU’s Wick Cunningham, SBU’s Jacob Bruch, MSSU’s William Rush, FHSU’s Trey Wineiger and PSU’s Jonathan Adamson. Those in 11th-20th place earn honorable mention All-MIAA honors as well.
 
In the women’s race Pittsburg State was second finishing just three points ahead of Fort Hays State who came in third. Missouri Southern earned the fourth spot and Nebraska-Kearney rounded out the top five.
 
Individually Morgan Benesch improved on a third place finish last year pacing the field at 21:02.06 to earn the championship. Shea Bonine of Fort Hays State came in at 21:48.86 to claim second place while Mary Carr of Southwest Baptist finished in third place. Taylor Morrow of Southwest Baptist finished the race in fourth place while Hannah DeVries of Pittsburg State rounded out the top five.
 
Also earning top ten honors were SBU’s Alexis Fritz, MSSU’s Cynthia Torres, MSSU’s Christian Provence, SBU’s Ashley Lawson and NWMSU’s Samantha Laurenzo. Those in 11th-20th place earn honorable mention All-MIAA honors as well.
