Missouri Southern will face off against Central Oklahoma in the MIAA Championship game at 3:30 p.m. on March 9 from Municipal Auditorium. Missouri Southern will be making their fifth appearance in the championship game with a 2-2 record while Central Oklahoma will be appearing in their first title game.
The two teams met earlier this season in Edmond with Missouri Southern pulling out a 92-79 victory. In that game for the Lions Marquis Addison led the way with 18 points and Slim Magee added 15 points. For the Bronchos Josh Gibbs had a double-double scoring 23 points and pulling down a game high 10 rebounds.
Overall on the season for MSSU Marquis Addison is averaging 17.0 points and Slim Magee is averaging 12.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Jordan Talbert is averaging 11.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while Cameron Cornelius adds 11.4 points per game.
On the season for UCO Gibbs is averaging a double-double with 21.6 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. Aaron Anderson is averaging 13.9 points, Cal Andrews is averaging 11.5 points and Seth Heckert is averaging 11.1 points per game.
The winner of the game will earn the MIAA’s automatic bid into the NCAA post-season tournament.
