Men's Final Results

SMITHVILLE, Mo. – With a final round team score of 285 (-3), Central Missouri came back from seven strokes down to win the MIAA Centennial Men's Golf Championship Tuesday at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. The Mules carded a three-round total of 877 (+13) to defeat second-place Washburn (881, +17) by four shots.

With the tournament win, Central Missouri also secured its fourth consecutive MIAA regular season championship and earned the MIAA's automatic bid to the NCAA postseason.

Washburn's Riley Piles earned individual medalist honors, firing rounds of 71, 71 and 68 to finish with a 6-under-par total score of 210 and defeat runner-up Tyler Gast of Missouri Western (215, -1) by five. Both Piles and Gast earned spots on the All-MIAA Team, which consists of the top-10 in the standings compiled from results of the MIAA Championship and three MIAA scoring events throughout the season.

All five of Central Missouri's participants in the MIAA Championship (Jared King, Joe Migdal, Sean Elliott, Cy Moritz, and Jason Vann) made the All-MIAA Team, with King earning the award for Player of the Year.

MIAA Freshman of the Year Justice Valdivia of Pittsburg State, Lincoln's Steven Mallow and Southwest Baptist's Bryan Steele each earned All-MIAA honors as well.

Pittsburg State's Garrett Fowler had a hole-in-one on "The Outlaw" course Tuesday afternoon, acing the par-3 third.

Missouri Western (900, +36) finished third, Fort Hays State (907, +43) placed fourth, Pittsburg State (908, +44) took fifth, Missouri Southern (929, +65) finished in sixth place, Lincoln (932, +68) placed seventh, and Southwest Baptist (978, +114) finished eighth.

Women's Final Results

SMITHVILLE, Mo. – Fort Hays State carded a final-round team score of 331 to finish at 664 (+88) and claim the MIAA Centennial Women's Golf Championship by one shot over Missouri Western (665, +89) Tuesday at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. Fort Hays State was led by Jordan Nixon, who finished in fourth place with a two-round total of 162 (+18) to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Northwest Missouri's Cassie Lowell was the individual medalist, firing back-to-back rounds of 76 to finish with a total score of 152 (+8), eight strokes clear of runner-up Natalie Bird of Missouri Western (160, +16). Lowell, Bird and Nixon were joined on the All-Tournament Team by MIAA Freshman of the Year Steph Charteris of Northwest Missouri, Payton Schooler of Lincoln, and Carmen Thompson of Fort Hays State.

Lincoln's Shea Colley recorded a hole-in-one Tuesday afternoon, acing the par-3 15th on "The Posse" course.

Northwest Missouri finished in third place with a team score of 667 (+91), Lincoln placed fourth at 680 (+104), and Truman took fifth with a score of 700 (+124).
