Kansas City, Mo. – The Lindenwood Lions will face Northeastern State in the MIAA Men’s Soccer Championship. The two teams met earlier this season and played to a 0-0 standstill. Jordan Ladbrooke stopped five shots and Fermin Hugh stopped six as each keeper earned a shutout in the match. The Lions enter the Championship led by goalkeeper Fermin Hughes, the MIAA Freshman of the Year, who has a 0.68 goals against average. Andre Hayne has seven goals on the season, including one in the semi-final. Ivan Romero had assists on both Lions semi-final goals and leads the team with five total. The RiverHawks sported the league’s top scoring offense in the regular season and were only held scoreless twice on the year, once coming in the team’s prior meeting. MIAA Player of the Year Bo White and Forward Juan Peralta who have 13 goals each lead the team. Jordan Schmoker who netted his first goal of the season in the semi-finals leads the team with eight total assists. In goal Jordan Ladbrooke has a 0.90 goals against average and is coming off of his sixth shutout of the season. The two teams will face off from the Olathe District Activities Center on Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. in the MIAA Men’s Soccer Championship.
