Kansas City, Mo. -- Fourth seeded Truman will face fifth seeded Emporia State to open the MIAA Volleyball Tournament. The two teams played last week and Truman escaped with a 3-2 victory. For the Bulldogs Allie Brak hit .304 and had 21 kills and Megan Sharpe hit .355 with 18 kills in the match. For the Hornets Paige Vanderpool hit .348 with 20 kills and Raney Okeson and Brianna Kaiser added 12 kills. On the season for Truman Allie Brak is leading the way with 3.82 kills per set. Meghan Zimmerman is leading the squad with 10.58 assists per set and Abby Moser is averaging 4.57 digs per set. For the Hornets Paige Vanderpool is averaging 2.55 kills per set and Brianna Kaiser is averaging 2.52 kills per set. Katie Duetschmann is leading the way averaging 6.25 assists per set and Meg Schwartz is leading the team averaging 5.06 digs per set. The two teams will face off on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. from Pershing Arena in Kirksville, Mo.
